The worst part is, how can you explain that to your team? Part of our job is to teach «how to lose» but... in that case...
I didn't even tell them. I just told them they didn't like us that day and we needed to work harder on our RT. I can't stand giving kids "the judges were stupid" reasons for losing comps.
Even when it's true!

Trust I wanted to flip the table on them when they said it. And they laughed while they said it. But they weren't joking. They just couldn't explain themselves and one of them said that and they were all like "yeah! Purple uniforms!" [emoji58]

I just got the funniest mental picture of you going crazy and flipping a table LMAO!

(Buzzfeed had this listed as a positive thing...no, Matt Stopera, this was not a compliment.)
I have not voluntarily watched a tumbling pass, vault or twisting dismount from her in a long time, because I can't deal with her leg form.

It wasn't as bad before her acl injury. But now her triple twists are cringe worthy.

Judges tell us ALL THE TIME to be more confident on the floor. If being more confident is asking my 12-13 years old to rub themselves, then I prefer not to win. What happened to smiles and clean motions???

Smiles and clean motions are great! But when I judge and the whole team has the same generic smile the whole routine.. i write "CHANGE UP YOUR FACIALS / Add more attitude." Not saying they are scored less, but cheer is a performance sport, so I like to see athletes perform, and make me remember them.

Most of my J1 kiddos last year were new to cheer or new to competitive cheer. They could smile the whole routine but every time I tried to get them to sing the music, I could tell they looked extremely uncomfortable. There were a couple that would, but they were at the age where they thought they looked goofy and thought that if they did it people would make fun of them. My youth 2 had a bunch of really sassy kids, but they never got sassy in the dance haha. They were sassy the rest of the routine but never in their dance [emoji58]

Legs apart in load ins, going up to half/extension/cupie/whatever is just repulsive. I promise you it is not hard and looks SOOOO MUCH BETTER. Seriously my biggest pet peeve because there is no reason why you aren't doing it besides laziness.

Also annoying when flyers just twist themselves down from their stunt because their bases don't pop them at allllll. This is scary and my #2 least favorite thing to see ever. Also another easy thing to fix-- if you can't do that you need to go back to sponges and straight cradles.

I get annoyed with bad motions. I get sad when I see team at high level competitions with a narrow high-V with bent wrists. I get it happens every once in awhile but I just see it so often. If I see action shots of me with bad motions I get embarrassed. I don't even like my pic on here too much cause my toes aren't pointed. I know @BuegeSmalls & @Official OWECheer got in a convo on twitter with some cheer account who was saying having correct motion placement is not important at worlds. I get it's not on the score sheet but as a gym wouldn't you want your teams motions to be in the correct place?

No one seems to care anymore. It's sad. That's also why lots of kids see nothing wrong with their messy tumbling.

Also, if you have been cheering for 1233532 years and are now on a Worlds team, there is no way you should have FLEXED FEET in your jumps.

Or in stretches. It kills me to see a flyer reach up and grab a FLEXED FOOT.

Or in anything else that requires pointed toes. Just point them.

Fix it Jesus.

It's something that so many people struggle with and I know with the team I am on sometimes we think our toes are pointed when they are not so our coach tells us to foucus on lifting your ankle up so your toes point

Quoting you again, but the way the girl asked us, "did you compete at Worlds?" had me wondering if she would base the validity of our comments on whether or not we have been to Worlds.
