I'm not a fan of that routine, but there is nothing worse than watching a routine going down like that. It makes my heart break for the girls, especially when you can see it on their faces.

...I mean I suck at rules and I immediately saw that as an illegal skill. You can't blame the "powers that be" for giving you a deduction for placing a clearly illegal skill in your routine? I don't understand the hissy fit. She isn't the first coach to get a legality deduction and she won't be the last. Take it out of your routine and call it a day.

Excuse me if I'm wrong, but isn't she known for her hissy fits???

Part of me wonders if they were thrown off by their music issues in the beginning?

I know my kids are rattled a little if something is off in the beginning (music skips, restarts, etc.)

For me, Stars and SE have the opposite problem... Too much fluff vs not enough. Stars have such amazing skill, there is no need for the extra fluff in the routine. Let it speak for itself-no gimmicks needed. SE needs to beef it up a bit, but I think that is because it's a new routine. I don't think it will stay that way, but it's got a good foundation to build upon.
