both statements are so puzzling to me..... Jamie Parrish knows a little more than the bare minimum when it comes to cheer, and I have yet to see a medium coed team do full team coed full ups. Which teams are you referring to?
idk i could've swore SOT royalty had coed full ups at the beginning of the season, maybe not, but regardless, all of large coed have been doing it all season, so when he said that i was a little confused.

while i agree that there is a LOT of talent in small coed this year, the scores speak for themselves when it comes to smoed and brandon. If one or the other hits i cant see anyone surpassing them. If both hit, they will end up in the top two. The other teams i could see doing really well this year at worlds is platinum, team gunz, and vizion 20/20.
i agree with what was said in this post, people do act like smoed and BSB are the only two worlds teams capable of winning small coed... but you have to think about how placements have been since 2011, (although BSB had that 9th place finish in 2013) smoed and BSB have had top three on lock in small coed, with 2/3 place never being the same team. BUT, i agree, if they hit, i doubt anyone will score over them. Platinum, Midnight, Diamonds, Fierce 5, LACF Gold... they're all GREAT teams and i could see any of them placing top three.

i think at some point small coed will catch up to what the other divisions are like, teams in that division are slowly catching up to the difficulty that smoed and brandon put out that i think eventually small coed wont always be easy to predict in the future.

Yep, small all girl was the same way until a few years ago. I see the same thing happening with small coed in the next couple years as well.

elaborate? if you don't mind.
When judges are scoring skills they go by the number of people on the team for majority opposed to the max number of athletes allowed for the division. Using Beatles as an example, they would use the number 23 and 6 boys to decide what constitutes a majority for the scoresheet. Some people feel as though a majority should be based on the max number of athletes allowed in the division, in this case 30/8. While I strongly, strongly disagree with that as there are many many teams out there that truly aren't able to max out, some people think that teams have less than max on purpose because of the ratios.

It's difficult for me to say whether I agree with basing it off of max number or not. Like you said, there are plenty of teams out there that can't max, and if they could max, they'd be doing so with under-level athletes. That being said there are plenty of teams who do this on purpose to boost their score.

Agreed, there are some out there. I feel that implementing it would hurt more teams that can't max out than those that are doing it on purpose.

ETA: I also don't really see why it's a bad thing to have less people on your team to help your score. Seems more like a smart coaching decision to me to have less athletes than to fill your team with potentially less skilled athletes just to say you have a full team. There's a reason why the age grid says 5-20, 21-30, 31-36, etc for the number of athletes.

They look great! Love the new dance! And I just have to say....most seasons begin the same for me with them. I love Stars routine and absolutely HATE the music. But by the end of the season, I love the entire package. Somehow again this season, the music I couldn't stand just a few months ago, is just perfect for the routine and for Stars!

I'll probably sound like a hater, I'm sorry, but those ripples in standing tumbling look so sloppy, and timing is off in so many parts of the routine that I can't deal. All of the skills are there, they just need to clean a lot up.

ETA: Ripples looked sloppy in another video that was posted. I guess they're ok.

I've seen a move to this in IO6 lately. A lot of teams are dropping 1 below a stunt number to help with ratios (23 instead of 24, 19 instead of 20). And I know that some of these gyms have the athletes available to fill their roster as they run with alternates, or have athletes on other teams they could pull from. The decision is being consciously made to drop 1 stunt group to create a stronger routine overall. It leaves more people available to front sort if needed, or to add in more tumbling. I'd say it's a smart working of the score sheet
