It really doesn't matter to me but I would rather a flyer put on a t-shirt when stunting because as a back-spot I hate when flyers cradle and all there armpit sweat gets all over my arm. I think its really nasty so I take my arm and wipe off the sweat on them.

Hope your gym doesn't have tanks as practice wear, like ours.

My gym doesn't offer sports bras as practice wear and I've never seen anyone wear one in the gym. So I assume they're not allowed? We're in New England anyway it never gets hot enough that we're dying with t-shirts on.

I don't see a problem with it if the athlete is comfortable. However, I don't like the idea of being forced to wear a sports bra. I think there should be a full length option as well.

My cp's gym owner does not allow tanks or sports bras for this reason...lol...says it's gross.
I also have a friend who was a college cheer coach who said sweaty flyers in sports bras are harder to catch (slippery) and made her flyers wear tshirts

until last year no one wore sports bras. but then we made the switch to half top uniforms, so for our summer practice clothes we got three sports bras, three tshirts, and three shorts. while at the gym we could either wear a sports bra or tshirt, your own choice. and the choice was for all age groups. that said, i completely agree it should be up to the athlete and their parent on which style they wear to practice.

why do some people find it only acceptable for senior aged girls to wear the sports bras?

Im not for or against sports bras. Alittle gross for the backspot but what can you do? I think my biggest concern is the tumbling spots. I actually know of some straight male tumbling instructors who made their girls wear tee shirts tucked in because they felt uncomfortable handling a girl in just a sports bra. It makes alot of sense, especially for the older, more developed girls.

There should be a third choice in the poll...tanks/long sports tops. It is not that a t-shirt is required at the gym my kids cheer at, it's just that you are not to be walking around in just a tiny sports bra. Long sports tops and fitted tanks are fine. Just no sports bras...and no bra straps showing all over either. I prefer this "rule" over being half a degree cooler (if that) by wearing a sports bras as opposed to a sports top/tank that covers your mid section.

we dont have any mandatory practice wear! usually in the summer if we're just doing some drills or conditioning, we take our shirts off because it gets super hot! but there arent any male coaches so noone really cares. sports bras, t-shirtsm i feel like it really isn't a big deal. you're in the privacy of your team's gym (usually)

I prefer the practice wear to be t-shirts bc sometimes I feel a little self-concious about how I look (especially if I just ate Taco Bell before practice.... dont act like you've never done it before :) ), but I would like the idea to have teams wear team t-shirts to practice and underneath a team sports bra, so everyone has the choice to wear either one and still have practice wear on.

sports bras are god when its hot out. but i dont think a gym should have a practice outfit only sports bra. some girls are very uncomfortable without a shirt. and at my gym when we stunt you have to have a shirt on when you fly, because i mean who wants armpit sweat on there arms every time they catch you?

i wear sports bras alot lol, i wear them when i run down the shore along the beach..
I also wear them to practice , im very comfortable with my body so i like to show it off.

i perfer to wair sports bras, but if i am getting spotted for tumbling i need to have a shirt on. it could be 100 digrees but if im getting spotted there will be a tshirt on my back.

i do think people should wair sports bras once in a while to get use to there body. thhey half to go on stage with there bellys out, might as well start feeling confy at prac befor the stage !
