I mean I get it, sex sells in cheer, I even recently heard a coach say to an athlete, I don't care how you wear your hair as long as you look sexy, which I found totally gross as the girl was only 11 years old, but to put that Fierce 1-4 uni on those little girls is all wrong. I just feel like it really crosses the line and would hope that an EP lets them know, as a parent if my daughter came home with that we would no longer be part of the program. I would rather see my daughter in the level 5 uni, it covers more!

I really don't think "sex sells" in the cheer industry. You're the first person I have ever heard say that. I feel, if anything, people have been trying to lay that assumption to rest.

I do agree that certain people and companies are trying to make the sport more modest, but be it as it may, I can mention a couple of instances that kids have been told from big time choreographers to be sexy, work it like you are getting paid and so on, I don't find it acceptable either, yet it does happen. I guess I would consider myself Conservative Republican in the cheerleading world

Pro Athletics..
I feel like the top and the bottom just don't go together. They look like pieces from other uniforms just thrown together because they're the same colors. But I like the idea of the 3/4 sleeves. I constantly see people rolling up their uniform sleeves in warmups or even on the mat. Even I catch myself doing it sometimes. Like the idea but I'd have to see how it looks with a whole team performing to see if it actually looks nice.

I will leave the fierce 1-4 uni alone. Everyone's basically said what I would say and I agree :)

BUT I would like to address the comment that Figure Skating is an Olympic Sport and they get blinged up and nobody says anything- Not the case. I have plenty of friends who don't consider Figure Skating a sport. I know many people who don't consider it a sport, costumes or otherwise. Heck, my best friend doesn't believe figure skating, gymnastics, cheerleading, or any other athletic contest judged on subjectivity should be considered a sport. Granted, I personally find flaws in that logic (considering we still have human refs making calls in even the 'objective' sports), but I digress lol

I mean I see where you're coming from when choreographers tell children to be sexy, I do think that is inappropriate. There are rules now against certain choreography to keep the dancing toned down a bit.

I feel that gyms sometimes forget that they shouldn't just be designing a uniform that looks good on stage, but one that would also appeal to future athletes of their gym and their parents. (And by appeal I mean not make them feel disgusted/uncomfortable).The uniform you put on your athletes is one of the first impressions an outsider is going to get of your gym. Choose wisely.

Remember that episode of Dance Moms, where Abby put them in costumes that were basically blue versions of those Fierce uniforms with a bit of ruffles, and the moms freaked out?
That'd be me.
I would put my child in an astronaut's outfit to compete in before letting her wear that
(I don't have a child btw... this is a hypothetical child)

I'm going to be repeating what everyone else has said already but oh well. I would be okay with the level 1-4 uni on the little kids if there was maybe straps or something or just thicker overall. I mean, little kids aren't wearing bras at that time and I remember having a picture of me when I first started and my top rode up while i was tumbling (even though we were wearing turtle necks and it wasn't a skimpy uni at all). If my imaginary kid had to wear that uniform I would probably load them up with dancers glue to make sure that top stays. I honestly don't mind the shorts at all, it's just the top I'm not sure about. & I think there should be a small limit on what kids under a certain age/division should wear. JMO

Now on the positive side, I really do love the uniform on older kids, it's one of my favorites this season.
