I would like to give a huge shout out to Step One’s small senior Spectacular and medium co-ed Renowned for raising $18,000 in 2 months to purchase their Worlds uniforms. Sadly we are not allowed to upload a picture of the new uniform but it is amazing! We are so proud of the support from our gym and the dedication of our athletes in working so hard to make this happen. You kids worked it out!

Ok, I honestly don't want to take away from this moment one bit- but something in me just thinks raising $18,000 in 2 months is an incredible feat where the efforts went to the wrong cause. I'm like everyone else and I really love new world unis and mixes, but think of where all that money would have been better served? You could win worlds with practice clothes if you had the skills, you can't however survive cancer or AIDS without money for treatment :(

Sorry for the humanitarian rant and I don't even know what came over me, but I felt like I needed to say that. I really do hope those unis turned out to be everything you guys wanted them to be though. Those results really do speak to very hard work.

I usually love all of F5's uniforms and practice wear, but I'm not feeling that sports bra. I think it's the font, I just don't like it. Whatever, those girls could make trash bags look fierce.

Okay calm down, these kids are SO passionate about their sport and they worked hard to earn that money for themselves. If you feel so strongly about whatever cause, you should raise some money for charity or spread awareness or something. Just feels like that post was really uncalled for and misplaced. No need to rain all over their parade. If they really wanted to shine on the floor at Worlds in new unis, that is definitely not a "wrong cause."

Sorry to bud in, but there isn't a need to tell them to "calm down".. in NO way was he aggressive in that post at all.. he was stating his opinion about it & he does have a point. $18,000 in two months is a lot for some cheerleaders to just go & raise for worlds uniforms. But yes, you do have a point as well, they're passionate about their sport and new uniforms is what they want; that's perfectly fine. Just some people think $18,000 could go to a better cause than uniforms... IMO

Trust me when I say that we all thought of that. When you break it down each child needed to raise $360 dollars. It doesn't seem like a huge amount at that point. For what we spend on this sport each year we could all do great things with it. Our gym is lucky to have a lot of kids that also fundraise and volunteer for local charities. But I completely understand what you're saying. When our gym owner told me the total amount being paid for Worlds as a whole, I was flabbergasted.

This is a problem that goes far beyond costs for worlds uniforms. Pretty much everything in our sport is overpriced and could be better served by spending it in other ways. Is there a reason that a competition should companies should charge $100/athlete? $400 for a uniform? $100 for a warm-up? $50 for a sweatshirt at a competition? The list goes on and on. I am not saying it's right, but I suppose that any team purchasing new unis for worlds is right in line with the spending habits within our sport.

$18,000 for uniforms earned by the athletes themselves and not from their parents' checkbooks? Kudos to them. It takes a lot of effort to raise that much money, and I am sure it was a lesson in hard work and perserverence for those kids- so there is a greater good that comes of it.

Idk, just seems rind of rude to suggest that paying all the money that we pay (and everyone knows we pay a LOT x_x) for cheerleading is a bad cause. Mayyyyybe there's a time and a place for that argument, but not here. We just want to see all the cute uniforms and get ready for WORLDS! :D
