We want to do a week of contests with our teams - just something to break up the summer and keep the kids motivated. We want to do some individual team goals and also some where they are competing against other teams in the gym. Of course we want to make it fair where one team doesn't have an advantage over the other (ex. level 5 against level 1). Has anyone done anything like this and can share some ideas to keep it fair, yet competitive?

Number of athletes achieving their goal (tumbling, stunting, etc.) by the end of the week per team

Conditioning contests (plank hold, pushups, longest hollow body hold, longest flyer supporting themselves in load with bases off their feet, etc.)

Spirit competitions (most from team in specific theme gear)

What about a gym goal - most hit libs at your level, or number of conditioning items. Add them all up and post it in a paper thermometer or similar to show the gym how much everyone has hit each week. Could be good for tracking hit stunts/routines over the course of the year too

Sometimes to break up practices we do jump contests. We do it by splitting the team but it would actually be easier team vs. team. To explain it, I will do it team vs. team style. Basically, you put the two teams into two straight lines parallel to each other. I would use the lines on the mat. Next, my main coach sits at the front of the line and shouts out a jump to the two first people. The first two people (one from each line/team) will jump and the better jumper (focusing on technique, not only height) gets to go back into the end of their teams line. Eventually, you have one person left and they have the best jumps. You can go through this as many times as you want with toe touch, right and left hurdler, pikes, etc. My coach normally has the "losers" go to the other end of the floor and jump everytime a new pair jumps to try and fix technique. If my side coach notices a "loser" make a correction in their jumps, they get to go back in line. Fun way to compete against teams while also fixing technique! I hope this made sense!

Not skill based, but the most competitive activity I remember in my gym was a food drive. Items in a higher demand (proteins) were given a higher point value than cheap meals (ramen noodles). Team with the most points won free tshirts.
