I've been watching high school and college nationals where simple, clean lines rule the mat and don't distract from the athleticism. The amount of sparkle on all-star uniforms feels like a visual assault in comparison!
Video them so they can see—quite often they will literally think they are locked out but clearly aren't.
Ask them to describe which muscles they are activating when they are "locking out". If they can't describe it to you, they can't do it for themselves. They may not fully understand what you...
Without the Olympic rules allowing all nations to participate, we would never have beautiful stories like the Jamaican bobsleigh team, Eddie the Eagle, Eric the Eel and Steven Bradbury. And that would be very sad indeed.
Former flyer's opinion: it's not that hard (unless you're doing level 6 baskets). If you have to take a year off flying to base on a junior team, you'll be fine. It's standing on one leg, locking out a knee and having body awareness. I've been out of the game for years, don't really work out...
I had the best hot toddy recently- warm spiced apple cider, whiskey, honey, lemon juice... it got me toasty and feeling amazing. I highly recommend it just because it's delicious. I'm sure it has curative properties as well because nothing that good can be that bad for you.
Best cure is prevention! Lots of water during comps, no soda or sugar. Earplugs to prevent noise fatigue. If nothing else is achievable, earplugs will make a huge difference.
I would cut out the ponytail holder, and then leave my hair for two days after comp. A lot of the tease relaxes out, and you can slowly (and gently) pull apart your hair over those two days. Then lots of conditioner, coconut oil, and a tangler teezer brush All Tangle Teezer Brushes | Tangle Teezer
I know that they're filming Bring It On in South Africa at the moment. There are a few Aussies and Brits over there- I'm sure they'd love to come and help out if you're not too far away from where they are filming.
The appearance of impropriety is why The Wiggles always do their wiggle hands in pictures with their little fans- you can ALWAYS see their hands in photos.
The only solution is micro-chipping children with their age, highest tumbling skill, and every gym they've attended.
I can't see another way around sandbagging/cheating.
I only heard of it happening once in 2013: two girls were asked to provide a sample and were taken to the bathroom with adult chaperones from the team.
I'm not sure what they test for, or the consequences of positive results.
The idea of the government body drug testing athletes when they...
The times I've been super happy to be in second place I don't even notice what others are doing, let alone if first place is celebrating. The other times I've been disappointed by second place I would loooove for the first place team to celebrate so no one is scrutinising my face for stank eye.
