Does anyone know where I could donate 10 old uniforms? Someone told me there was a company that would take the name off of the uniform and give them to under privileged athletes. I tried searching for the company and could not find it.
Thanks for the help!
We are trying to think of cute names to rename our classes. We need names for a jump class, a stretch class, a cheer class, a standing tumbling class, and a running tumbling class.
-Thank you!
Pam

I was on stage and as soon as I saw him walk out, I was balling! It was such a touching moment! I think I might have cried over that more than my team winning :)
I pretty much did the same with my thumb. Someone started from a run to jump on me and I put my hand out. I jammed my thumb into her knee so hard that my tumb nail was stuck in her knee. I had a bone bruise for a month and a half and she has a nice scar. I never had anything hurt so bad...
Yes, go to the camp and deal with it up for the time being. Just because you are choreographing and doing music doesn't mean you can skip camp. That appears to the team you do not care. I would talk to the coach and explain how you feel about these instructors. Maybe the following year you...
My high school coach...Coach P at Northwestern was amazing. She started coaching 9th grade with my year and moved up with me to JV and then Varsity. She taught me so many new skills and especially how to be a leader. I was extremely shy when I started high school and cheer was fun for me, but...
I know at our gym the girls sold pro and college team cups...football, basketball, baseball, etc. They made a ton of money to go towards their account.
To get mirrors in the gym, we had each girl try to sell atleast 25 raffle tickets for a $100 gas card. This was last summer. I believe it...
Well of course everyone wants to win and have that moment, but there are always going to be teams that are better than you at different competitions. You might have a bad day...you might have had the best routine of your life. For your team to be right behind them and beat so many other teams...
This starts another conversation. If every team in the gym has a different uniform, does the gym pay for this uniform, rent it out, or you have to buy a new one? I can't imagine paying that fee every year if I had a child crossing. Plus, if they do not require to have the same uniform, which...
It's optional for our kids to crossover, but the parents have to pay for the crossover competition fees. I know we break the fees up by month so it's about an extra $20 per month. We do not make them pay for the second skills camp or choreography camps.
This isn't personally about me, but about the owner of my gym. I have never seen someone who can talk to those girls the way she does and get them to do those skills. She knows how to switch tactics in a heartbeat for each kid. Whether she has to be hard on them, treat them like their 5, joke...
We are required to dress-up in atleast jeans and a nice top. Of course, we have to wear the gym's colors. I usually wear flats unless I know at that competition that the stage is tall....then I put my 5 inch heels on so I can see over the stage and the girls can see me haha. At one competition...
All I have to say is whatever Courtney is doing...it's working! I agree with pushing a few kids that don't have the skill at the moment of tryouts. You have the entire summer to push the child to get that skill. Usually, if you do tell the child that I am placing you on a certain team, but...
