If I knew what I do now but my daughter did not, the answer would be "No". She wouldn't know what she missed and this journey wasn't about me. The cost - physically for her and financially for me - was far too high.
I would miss the excitement of competitions but I imagine there would have...
My favorite by far, too. :D So many happy memories that year. I liked the version of the routine from earlier in the season a little bit more than the one at Worlds, though. Or maybe it was the energy of the day and of the crowd!
I just can't see the positive value in these kinds of threads, and not just because it is an Illinois team. I like how we hear "families have a right to know", but I would bet 80% or more of the cheer families in Illinois and probably most states don't follow this board, especially in summer...
The wise people who decided to create a new level and title it 4.2 set these teams up for a limitless future of being selected by harmless jokesters, not the people here. I'd wager that Level 5 has been poked at a thousand times on this board for everything from shoes to ponytails. When 4.2...
Loved the concept - a return to focus on the quality of execution of skills instead of... 'how fast can we get how many to throw how much in any way possible, regardless of risk to the athlete or overall visual quality'.
Loved the statement - "All of the variations of cheerleading...
Popular in Central Wisconsin, too. My ex-mother-in-law tried to trick me into eating squirrel stew. One of many valid reasons to become an ex-mother-in-law.
So far we have managed to divert two threads-gone-bad using creepy crawlers and small rodent-like animals. May I suggest for the next...
Someone once told me I should move to North Carolina because they don't have mosquitoes there. Something about the mountains and the running water keeping them from breeding. Scandal and lies, scandal and lies!! Excuse me while I go tell him to come here to hike, because there are no deadly...
Your friend must not really know @ACEDAD. Because I know ACEDAD and he doesn't eat guinea pigs. He only eats hamsters. I hear Cheer2Win is leaving him because he lies to everyone about it. She's marrying that other guy from Alabama. What's his name?
Why can't we just find some wealthy Cheer Sugar-Daddy/Sugar-Momma to buy up all the gyms in Illinois? Then all the issues would go away. Mmmm, maybe not. Then it would be Cheer Sugar North vs. Cheer Sugar South vs. Cheer Sugar West vs.....
I'm confused because I am still not seeing where most people denied what she was saying earlier about what was happening with the team, prior to more and more information being divulged. But I stay away from most other media and it could very well be being denied elsewhere and spilling over...
I should have known you would be proven right, once again. This thread should have been locked. And CC's finances are nobody's business but their own and that of the people impacted by the situation. That post should be deleted, IMO.
this may be the first time we don't agree. there have been much worse threads that didn't get locked. As long as nobody gets suckered into the drama pool, there are some of us who really are interested in hearing what is happening.
Will they be keeping the 'Generals' name? It would be an appropriate fit with the rest of the teams at UA, since that is a rank in the 'Royal' army. ;)
There has been Illinois cheer drama on this board and its predecessors as far back as 2003 or so? Way before it was picked up in the newer social media and grew horns and a tail. If you figure out the answer to your question, you definitely deserve an award. Or 1000 shimmies.
SARCASM ALERT.... I'll put that out there up front. :p
How many people besides me think that if our Illinois teams could hit with the same consistency that a thread about Illinois cheerleading deteriorates and goes south, we'd all be World Champs every year?
