I already get nervous as it is that if my bases catch me weird, my top will slide up to half expose my sports bra (it's happened before)... but I'm not even sure I could wear a bra with that uniform and now there is an extra hole for exposure to possibly happen through. Big fat NO from me on...
Will you guys have a practice or something in the middle of the day to keep everyone focused? I think that's what the team I'm on did last year. Everyone hated it but as a coach, it makes sense.
I already know there isn't a chance in ___ that we're going to finals so I'm excited to have a full...
We're 12 hours earlier - I cannot imagine sitting around all day waiting to compete! Even though we're from the west coast and with the time change, I'll be waking up around 3am (body time).... I'd rather do that, than sit around and freak out. lol
Do you know if worlds athletes have to pay to watch? I've never been and wasn't sure if it is included with my "park hopper" pass or whatever it's called that grants entry in to ESPN.
I tried looking for it the other day and couldn't find anything. I hope it comes out soon so I can mentally prepare myself for an early morning or a day of sitting around being nervous before I compete lol.
If I remember correctly, they alternate rules changes and age-grid changes year to year. So this time next year should be a rules change & not an age grid change. However, *should* is the key word because they made changes to level 4/5r tumbling this year .
Agreed. We are having to kind of redo our routine for worlds because we really played to the Varsity scoresheet to score well and get a bid at our first competition (less athletes in each section, clean "elite" labeled skills, etc) and it will definitely NOT do well at Worlds.
While I do agree those those uniforms are absolutely insanely unpractical....the detailing with the stones is super pretty and I love how intricate the patterns are.
ScottyB nailed it - you literally cannot be sharp enough. Be yourself, be confident and energetic. I would also suggest that think of the tryout timeframe is entirely part of the tryout - be friendly with the other staffers & potentials and be outgoing (don't just sit in the corner and rock your...

There is a publicly posted schedule available on VarsityAllstar.com under event search. It's a PDF so I can't figure out how to post a link.

Is it possible that you are also stressing her out? I say this in the nicest way possible. I have seen quite a few athletes who feel too much pressure from coach and/or mom to be perfect or move up to the next level and it can be so detrimental to their growth as an athlete.
I would sit down...
