    All-Star BHS forearm pain

Find a good PT who works with gymnasts and can look at her form. They can help identify issues and suggest exercises or ways to tape/brace to provide support. My daughter developed left wrist/forearm pain (tendonitis) with her bhs. A PT identified her hypermobility and noticed her left knee...

All-Star How to fix cheer uniform

Another thought, just put a black sport bra underneath it and see what it looks like. This style has a wide strap and might look okay. Amazon

All-Star How to fix cheer uniform

I'm sorry, I translated "original" into meaning an old uniform. Neither option is ideal, but the simple wide strap would at least prevent a wardrobe malfunction and be simple to execute in a time crunch. The fabric is relatively inexpensive on Amazon <click here> and an average seamstress...

All-Star How to fix cheer uniform

Very rough, but you get the idea. Honestly, since you’re running out of time, I’d wear the old uniform and ask the gym to request a refund.

All-Star How to fix cheer uniform

If there's time, and a good seamstress available, they could take a plain black athletic fabric and "copy and paste" the design of the supported side to the non-supportive side. Or, if lacking in time, take a plain black athletic fabric and make a simple wide strap to go from front to back...

All-Star General Idea of Team Placement

Knowing nothing but age and tumble skills, I would guess a Tiny team. I base this only on the fact many Tiny and Mini coaches prefer having their athletes on the higher end of the age grid, as well as, what you just posted about the talk of two Tiny teams above. With you being a long time...

    All-Star Prep/Elite

The rule I think you read is pertaining to the same season. An AS elite athlete can not crossover to an AS Prep team, or vice versa. With that said, there is nothing I have seen or read that states a gym or customer can't go from an AS elite team one year (season) to AS Prep team the next season.

All-Star General Idea of Team Placement

Without knowing the age makeup of the other kids trying out and/or the teams tumbling and stunting needs (backspot, base, flyer) it is almost impossible to speculate if she would be on a Tiny or Mini team. If I assume at tryouts this gym has enough athletes to field both a Tiny and Mini team...

    All-Star All star cheer 24'-25'

Flyers are a great idea, however, don't put them inside the mailbox, that's illegal. She can either knock on the door and hand them out, or she can rubberband them and attach them to the outside of the mailbox. I would specifically put your phone number, or a designated email, on the flyer to...

    All-Star All star cheer 24'-25'

I can't help with donation or sponsorship ideas, and I don't know how old your daughter is, but based on her doing AS for 8 years I'm going to assume she's probably at least 12-13 years old. Maybe? Around there? Anyhow, there's a 14 year old girl in our subdivision who has a dog/cat sitting...

High School am i just not "cut out" for cheerleading?

Unfortunately, noone on the boards is going to be able to give you a definitive answer as to why you were cut. You can, however, go to the coach and ask what you can work on for next years tryouts. Ask if practices are closed or if you would be allowed to observe practices to learn cheers...

High School Is it legal for a high school cheer coach to legally put coaches fee/similar on our payment form for cheerleaders?

Interesting article on the conflict of interest..... CONFLICT OF INTEREST? Should HS Coaches Be Allowed to Run Summer Club Teams or Offer Private Coaching Sessions for Pay to their Players? Ask Coach Wolff Over the last several months, I have received numerous emails from sports parents...

High School Is it legal for a high school cheer coach to legally put coaches fee/similar on our payment form for cheerleaders?

In CA there are some exceptions as long as a student is not excluded for non-payment, and "camps" are a legal exception. Most states have some type of conflict of interest policy in place where coaches can't make additional money from their athletes, but cheer coaches may be arguing there...

All-Star Moving an athlete from novice to elite

Watch the team(s) she would be eligible for next year and observe the skills they are competing. When it comes to the athletes in the gym, the coaches are watching them all year long and have a good idea of skill level, coachability, and maturity long before tryouts. Good stunting skills, the...
