Keep in mind that there technically isn't a D1 Summit. There is a Summit (for all programs) and D2 Summit (for D2 divisions only). Teams always have the option of bypassing a D2 division or a D2 competition and competing with ALL of the other programs. You are always allowed to 'compete up.'...
Yes, I assumed there would be a witch hunt and that people would sit around and speculate and draw their own conclusions. That's pretty much what happens on Fierceboard every day. lol While I expected it, I still feel like its not NCA's place to engage in it or be responsible for it. The...
The parents/athletes/coaches are definitely experiencing the ramifications of their decisions. We don't need to publicly shame them on a national scale to have an impact. I understand everyone's desire to know the details, I just don't believe those details are anyone else's business. Everyone...
Hey guys, thanks for all the support of the decision but there's no need to go on a witch hunt. I get that you are curious but there are a couple of things to remember:
1. There are varying factors that lead to ineligible athletes and incorrect rosters. I specifically didn't use the word...

I've heard a lot of funny conspiracy theories regarding our industry, but this is the first I've heard of a 'mesh conspiracy theory' to make more money off of uniforms by allowing mesh. I was on the committee that agreed that mesh counted as 'covering the midriff'. And the only motivation in...
I had a lot of big life changes this past season and didn't get to WATCH as much cheerleading as I normally do until I got to Worlds. I sat front row at the HP Fieldhouse for 12 hours straight on Saturday and was in shock at how far SOME of the routines had taken it. Overall, I think our sport...
I don't think adding more guidelines is on the table. We already have guidelines that acknowledge inappropriate choreography. That responsibility actually falls into the hands of the USASF Safety Judge.
thanks for everyone's feedback. It's been very insightful to read everyone's opinions.
Will you clarify as to why you won't have your children cheer? Is it because of the choreography trends or because of the discussion regarding choreography trends?

I really appreciate it. It seems a vast majority of people feel like it has its time and place but has been going overboard lately. I keep hearing judges say that it's gotten to be too much and coaches that feel the same way but also feel like they need to incorporate it to be competitive.
The...
