I heard rumors that UDA is considering adding coed divisions for the 2025 UDA College Dance Team National Championships. The coed divisions have a maximum of 20 members with one or more males while the all-girl divisions will have 20 female members.
This is what the divisions will look like...
Have you seen male cheerleaders flying in basket tosses because I saw that Weber State had a male cheerleader performing a double-full twisting basket in their National Championship routine at the NCA College Nationals last weekend?
BTW, here is the performance schedule. Remember that Weber State and SFA are in the same division as Louisville, NC State and Oklahoma State since Advanced Division IA Large Coed Cheer and Advanced Division I Large Coed Cheer lack teams competing this year...
Not to burst your bubble, but UCF is a very competitive team (they even won the 2024 UCA Division IA Large Coed Championship a couple of months ago) much like the likes of Kentucky, South Florida, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State, WKU, Morehead State, West Georgia and Tennessee. Still...
UCA/UDA allows teams to compete in both performance and game day divisions (for example, a dance team can compete in jazz, pom and game day categories) while NCA/NDA does not (though dance teams can compete in, for example, team performance and spirit rally). Thoughts?
Well, you could try but considering the fact that UCF only has a large coed team where only the guys base and the girls fly, not to mention that the Golden Knights are very competitive (they recently won the 2024 UCA Division IA Large Coed Championship) it's not going to be easy. But if you...
You mean 5 boys on small coed? Speaking of which, there are plenty of colleges that have all girl teams like Alabama, WKU, Oklahoma, Morehead State, West Georgia, USF, Louisville and many others. The main reason for the majority of colleges (particularly NCAA-FBS teams) having large coed teams...
You got UCF (the 2024 UCA Division IA Large Coed Champions), South Florida, Florida State, Bartow and several other top high school and college squads from the Sunshine state.
Speaking of which, I have an idea for next year's UCA College Nationals. Why not each team have the option of including a cheer section or not? I know that the NCA College Nationals does.
