2016 Worlds Bids

So these teams r formed but "possible-maybe" not b a Worlds division! That doesn't makes sense

Why? It's never been stated as a Worlds division (and has obviously never been one in the past) so why would it not being one not make sense?

I don't know why it's setup this way. My guess is the Worlds Advisory Board that sets the Worlds divisions and makes other changes to Worlds wants time to process the last Worlds before planning changes for the next. Plus the stated Worlds season starts November 1st and I'm sure an announcement would be made before then.

But with teams formed much earlier than that. It does make sense to process each worlds every year before changes are made

When teams are formed is outside the USASF's control. Choosing to form a team assuming it will be Worlds eligible before an announcement is made or choosing to wait is a program's decision.

In reality Americans have it better than most. Look at the teams listed here that have bids. I wonder if any of them would prefer to be small but have a bid as AG or large.

not like it matters too much. it's not like it's a brand new division with no other options if it doesn't get approved. If it doesn't, they'll be ioc5 still. obviously not as competitive but at least these teams do have a backup plan!

Agree, with the 2 well known gyms that I know of that have Sm IOC5 teams formed, I don't think they did so to not got to Worlds! My friend would b pretty ticked off if that is the case!

I'm not on the WAB, but would guess that will be addressed at the August meeting also. I talked to one person on the committee and asked if they would consider allowing a team that has a bid and met the criteria for small coed at the bid event to have the option of competing in small coed at Worlds. I don't know if any teams exist like this so it may be an irrelevant request.

Ok thanks. I can't think of any like that in the UK off the top of my head, but I also don't think there are restrictions on rosters between receiving the bid and competing at Worlds, due to the fact that it's a different season for us. So I don't know whether a team would just be given the choice. Wait and see I guess! All this is merely curiosity on my part, thanks for your response.

In the uk we have our seasons set up very different from the US, our nationals is at Easter time so if you win a bid at nationals you save it till the next year. This is why teams are formed so early

We would love to see IOC6 split in small and large. We have a bid for 2016 for IOC6 and we won it in Limited Coed 6 (Small Coed).

Its hard going on the floor with 4 guys and competing against teams with 15 guys.

But we'll see im August where we will compete in next season at worlds

If you're referring to USASF, I'm pretty sure starting this season onwards Small IOC applies to both level 5 & 6.

I think we just assumed it would be one. Theoretically it's as much of a legitimate division as IO/IOC 5/6, so if it's not a worlds division then it's clearly a sub par division, which doesn't make much sense.

@DancerDude0118 yes, it's a USASF division this year, but @Andre was just saying that they haven't declared it a Worlds Division yet.
