From my understanding they did decline. As of now, the Sonics are the only team from Freehold going that I know of going. WC usually wants a full paid bid to consider attending Summit.

Wow. Maybe for worlds, but summit bids are just so hard to come by an AL is an impressive achievement.

Yes, because the youth and junior level 5 teams go to Dallas, WC does not take them to the summit

i wonder why they even accepted it in the first place. when the coaches register at the competitions they have to fill out a form saying if they will accept summit bids or not. they should have just said they werent accepting them so the next team in line could have gotten the bid at the competition.

They usually fill out this form, maybe it got messed up

In the past they've (Starlites, idk about other WC teams) usually waited until after the comp to decline I think, bc I've seen them get at large bids and then decline later over the last few years. Maybe they want to keep the option of maybe accepting the bid?

I know if my team was next in line for a bid, and a team accepted it, when they knew they were just going to decline it, I'd be pretty upset. I'd rather my team get the bid at competition than to tell them later. Do bids pass down if a team declines? Or do they disappear like in an upgrade?

I think the methodology isn't consistent. Our director said that wildcard bids would not be accepted for our gym (satellite gym) yet last weekend, another satellite gym was announced for a Wildcard bid. Not sure how it will play out, but each to her own. I will say, that team looked totally awesome in comparison to their performances in Providence. They completely deserved the bid in Trenton.

I don't know how things vary regionally, but our gym would only be at 2 comps this season to be eligible for AL or paid Summit bids. Not much wiggle room there if the team isn't on point for the season.

Who got one in Trenton? I totally forgot that teams went there last weekend and didn't see any scores.
