I'm rushing in the fall at a small school in Florida with only 6 sororities, one being only in its second year. Should I go ahead and get recommendations? I'll be a junior. If yes here's the ones:
Zeta Tau Alpha
kappa Delta
alpha Phi
Delta Gamma
Alpha Chi Omega
Kappa Alpha Theta

My daughter said that some schools/sororities will have a quota on the number of upper classmen they let in. She's basing that on hers and a few others she knows of in Northeast though.

Greek life at my school wasn't huge and we even only tried to take a small number of upper classmen. If you recruit a junior, you basically have to replace them in two years, whereas with a freshman you have them for four so they're essentially less work.

It's the same here out in the wild wild West. Our friend did go through rush (and pledge) at USC earlier this year. So it is doable.

Can't speak for other schools, but South Carolina did have a quota of upperclassmen we had to meet. It was based off the number still active in the recruitment process during the preference round.

I would definitely try to get recommendations! Your junior status could be looked at as a disadvantage so recs can help even that out, even if they're not common or seen as "necessary" at your school. Your rec writer can emphasize how great you are and even explain why you're rushing as a junior.

Thanks guys! I know of a few people who rushed as Juniors (and seniors!) at my school. I'm not sure if they had recommendations, but i'm going to go ahead and try to get some :)
So if anyone (or if you know of anyone) who is willing to help me out, please let me know! Also, if you would like any additional information about myself before you agree, that's fine!
