How does this affect the summit/world's crossover limits? I believe the number of crossovers was raised this year to 8 from 5 but would a junior 5 team be able to compete and the ICU junior worlds and also the summit?

Team officially selected: Eastside Middle School from Kentucky

USA CHEER ANNOUNCES U.S. JUNIOR NATIONAL TEAM – USA Cheer
I'm interested to see how this'll all play out. I'm especially excited to see us next to all of the Junior aged international talent.

Dear Cheer Lord, please let Jamaica field a junior team. I would die. I love them and think they have so much potential as a country. Also it'd be super cool if Norway sends a team and they're just as clean as the premier team.

I'd love seeing a Jamaica cheerleading team movie kind of like Cool Runnings!!

I wonder how the team was chosen/criterion, (Bid? Tryout?), etc.

It says they won NHSCC's small middle school division in 2016, so guessing that is how they were chosen. No other credentials are listed and I feel like we would have heard about tryouts if they happened.

I came on here to share this as I just found out last night! - Guess it's old news. :wham:
Team Canada posted on facebook last night looking for a Junior team/ young sr. team to submit a tryout video to be considered. They stated that due to short notice they couldn't follow protocol they do to field the Sr. ICU teams this year (I'm assuming b/c its too short notice?).

I'm curious to see how fielding junior teams works out, since many children can't pack up and move just for cheer. I think many countries will just select an already formed team and see how it goes.
