Is it possible to rent a half hour of floorspace at a local all star gym? My high school team did this. I think we paid $5 a girl for an hour and one of the all star coaches did like a routine "clean-up." It was a reasonable price. But we did this before any spring floor competition because we were a large team and timing, in jumps especially, would end up off without the experience of jumping with 28 people at once. Our tumblers were about 50/50 with experience tumbling on spring, so it helped them with rebounds and what to expect and stuff.

I know that wasn't your question, but worth looking into if you can swing it $.

I think our coach is looking into it :)

Book research question! When do teams find out their scores during worlds? Like, they would know if they hit their routine and all that, but how long after they perform would they know what their score was? Or even what the scores for their whole division looks like? Would that just right after the last team in their division, or at the end of the day?

Thanks!

Through out the day scores will be announced at the venue. I'm not sure how long after a team performs it comes out but I would guess between 30-60 minutes. A complete list will be put on line after a division is completed.

Unfortunately this won't be the case anymore... USASF has made a statement recently that mentions scores will no longer be announced publicly, only which teams move on to the next round.

Oh. I missed that announcement. So much for transparency.

Generally, your scoresheets will be out between 10-20 minutes after you perform, though sometimes it's longer. At Worlds, you can get a breakdown of the division after they announce who is advancing or after awards.

Do you have more info or a link for this new ruling? I'm currently writing a book that will take place at worlds this year, and want to make sure i get details correct. The book comes out two weeks before worlds so I sadly can't wait until it actually happens to find out. Thanks for the heads up so far though. Guess I have a few paragraphs to edit on my lunch break! Haha

It was discussed on the boards not too long ago but I can't remember under which thread... I distinctly remember @NJ Coach clarifying that scores won't be announced anymore though, maybe she can shed more light on the new procedure.

ETA: Nevermind, I found the link to this year's Worlds packet.

The bottom left of page 4 states that team scores will no longer be announced after they perform.

Thank you so much!!! I don't know how I would function without fierce board! Literally any questions or concerns I come across while writing, all I have to do is ask and everyone is more that helpful in pointing me in the right direction. Love this place!

It has a name but I'm so tired I can't think right now- but in level 3 there's the flip over where the back base and flyer connect and the flyer flips over and the bases catch- to add the full twist what can I do? ATM the back base crosses arms and helps get height but we're struggling to get the full twist in there- a half so the flyer ends up facing the back base works but not quite there on the full twist, any help/videos etc would be amazing!

(Sorry this is so rambly and it probably makes zero sense but if anyone can help I'm grateful!)

Suspended forward roll. :)

My team is competing for the first time ever next month, and most of us have never competed before, so we're not really familiar with the feel of spring floor. Does it make any difference when you jump? I haven't jumped on a spring floor before so I'm curious if there's a little bit more bounce when doing multiple jumps

Hopefully you can find a space to hire as previously mentioned. Because EVERYTHING is different. For all my cheer career(9 years) I've only ever been on hard mats, until 2 years ago when jamfest nordic came. First time on the floor was so weird, even just transitions and dance were off, stunting was weird, and jumping was sooo different. It's such a difference in balancing and every step you take you bounce, it's really weird when you've never been on spring floor before haha.

We've taken tumbling classes at a local gym, so most of us have at least a little experience on spring floor, but we've only ever fumbled, never danced, jumped or stunted. Hopefully we can afford it :)

We call it a baha front. But that might just be our program...

What title is given out to the champions of local competitions? Or small comps where mainly local gyms attend?
