This will be our first time attending NCA, very excited! Cp's sister (age 11) will be coming as a spectator too. Outside of watching all of the amazing talent, is there anything to do nearby the convention center? tips from those who have attended in the past are appreciated...
There's a big park right nearby with a ton of bulls (steer? lol don't know correct farm terminology) that my cp & her friends found a fun spot to run around & take pics on the bulls. Oh, they're statues...just read this & it sounded like live bulls! Lol! :)

If you like history, Dealy Plaza where JFK was shot is nearby. There's a museum.

And George W. Bush museum is on the SMU campus. Very moving tribute to 9/11. Also, Daley plaza is right dowtown. Going to a tour at the Dallas Cowboys stadium this year and trying to hit the Stockyards to see the cattle drive.

You had me at bacon platter.

It's like 5 different bacon slices etc

Currently drooling lol

I saw a tweet that said there were just over 1,000 teams attending this year, which I think is less than last year. If true, that is surprising to me.

I went and compared a few days ago. If I remember right it was a little less than 100 fewer teams this year than last year. With around 60 teams last year that were tiny/mini, which are not competing this weekend. So pretty close numbers.

Thanks. I wonder if that was expected. I thought it was made a 4 day event to accommodate more teams but perhaps it was for a different reason.

Less teams = more days. That doesn't compute. Maybe it eliminates those super early starts or late awards.
