I will say I'm the parent of a SS4 athlete and being in the arena was a fun experience. Did I find it necessary? No. Now I'm at work today staring at my phone to watch all of CP's friends and my friends' CPs compete and not getting any work done. I enjoyed going to watch the level 5s last year in the arena. Our gym goes to CS, NCA, UCA so I can see any team I wanted to live usually at the other two. I also thought the arena would be pretty empty for the level 4's but there was a decent amount of people each time we were in there. Just my Monday morning thoughts after our competing Fri/Sat NCA experience.

So.... NCA was the only thing that kept me from falling apart this weekend.... I might consider sleeping in a car next year and away from people period! Sheraton completely disappointed me and that's coming from the wife of a former Starwood employee (but we are still SPG members). Short version: Saturday drop my wallet at practically entrance of hotel, all my cash is stolen (thanks for leaving my IDs and CC but my dallas budget which was in cash gone....). That night, drunk and disorderly group of men fighting with God knows who or what startled me awake at 12:48am (we had to be up at 5am) and practically got 3 hours of sleep. Security called and apparently it was a long night for them too. All Ice machines were apparently broken, including vending machines so only option was gift shop with ridiculous prices for a soda.... elevators at one point in center 1 were non functional so 30-40 mins just to get on one to go to your floor. My only positive distraction was watching our program and my CP and the many level 5s Saturday and Sunday cause I was just about done with Dallas!!! Ok carry on!!! Lol needed to vent that cause my weekend has just been a domino affect....

Oh btw on the flight home and find out my cs who stayed home with DH now has flu for the 2nd time in 30 days... tamiflu won't be covered by insurance so fighting them on it... I have a sinus infection that won't go away and yea I need like a voodoo spiritual cleansing cause I'm seriously done lol

So sorry I now how crappy that can be :(

My daughter was so excited to be back and had a great Saturday but quickly turned sick, was completely miserable yesterday. Visited the ER last night and was there until 4 AM. Originally I went to one place from online but they wouldn't take my insurance, so they told me to go to parkland hospital. Me not being from here I didn't really know a better place to go. So I went as they had advised me to and that hospital was so scary, you had to go through security and metal detectors and we get in there and she is the only child. There is what appear to be homeless people and junkies all in the waiting room. The hospital advise me multiple times just don't leave your daughter. If you go to the restroom; she goes with you. If you get up please make sure she is by your side. Which I was but every new employee warned me in case the other one hadn't I guess.
When we got back I will say the hospital staff was very nice but they were like what brings you here? We never get children, in the off chance we do we assume you aren't from here. No one ever comes to this one by choice.
I was like ohh [emoji15]
But they took care of her and did a bunch of tests and she has the flu, and I was only at the hospital until 4AM! Ahh I'm running on like very little sleep!!

Hope yours gets better soon, and I'm hoping for the same thing for mine!! Sorry we didn't get to meet up!

Did prodigy hit both day 1 and day 2?

Just getting home now and here is my NCA 2017 thoughts...
1.We are a program that always travels together and the entire program goes to every performance of every team. And as long as that makes most comp days I find it's one really important lesson for my CP to learn especially being a worlds kid that every level and every kid in the gym is just as special as her and this year we couldn't do that. Luckily parents Facebook live performances for those of us that didn't get there until Saturday night.
2. The grey NCA sweatshirt was only available in youth small by the time we got there. How they have an entire level not compete until Sunday and not have merchandise available is so strange to me.
3. I am just getting home now, that is 2 days of missed work and school. Not a fan of that at all and glad their 4 day experiment is only lasting one year.
4. The special needs division competing both days was fantastic, especially with the worlds teams, it really puts life in perspective. Also I think it was the only thing that saved Monday morning. The arena was half full and kind of lifeless even for large senior. Did I like getting a front row seat yes, but it just didn't feel the same.
5. Stayed in Addison and wish I would have the last 3 years. It was wonderful, not expensive hotel and more food choices than I have ever seen!
6. In regards to small coed CP's division, the top 7 scored over a 96. The talent in that division is unreal. I watched every team both days and truly was blown away. There going to be atleast 5 teams that any other year could place top 3 at worlds that may not even make it to day 2.
Hoping this wasn't my last NCA, cp is in full burnout mode. But this is the one comp I would consider to going to as a spectator, it's truly my favorite !

What a fantastic statement, "being a worlds kid that every level and every kid in the gym is just as special as her"
Thank you from a level 4 parent. I wish everyone taught their kids that. Too many times this weekend I heard. "Level 4 doesn't deserve to be in the arena" or "It's so stupid level 4's are in the arena".

just looked through his twitter and found this from a couple weeks ago and it definitely made me uncomfortable

"Seriously am in love with baking. I think I've baked 20 pie's since Thanksgiving. Wish I had more ppl to help me eat it tho :("
I know this is late but still, what the hell!?!? Can you say creeper much?

I know the point of #2 was they should have been better prepared logistically for merchandise with half the competitors not arriving until midway through the competition, but if anyone else missed out, it is online
