It's been what feel like forever since I've been active on Fierce Board, but now that I am starting to write book 5 in my series I had some questions come up. I can also post them in the random thread, but figured this would be a good place to start:

-I'm exploring the idea of moving and living with a host family more recently. Obviously we know this is a thing for larger gyms and well known teams. But does anyone have any experience with this at smaller gyms and less known teams? Any experience, personal or stuff you have seen in your gym from others, would be much appreciated!

-I know I talked with people about it before, but can't for the life of me find out where. What is the general timeline for getting Worlds rings in to the gym? Is the end of August too early for something like that?

-In pyramid for a level 5 stunt, what kind of deduction is caused by someone doing flips un-assisted. Like, if someone was supposed to hold their arm while they did a back flip, but the arms don't connect in time, is it a big deduction?

Thanks everyone so much! I cannot even begin to explain how invaluable the advice, answered, and even inspiration I get from Fierce Board proved to be. I want to make sure my books aren't just entertaining, but rather actually true to life and as accurate in even the small details as possible! :)
Not sure about the first two questions but a free flipping stunt is level 6, so if a flipping pyramid element in a level 5 routine were to come unconnected it would most likely be a legality, which is a very large deduction, although it is possible for it to be counted as an execution error, depending when it became unconnected. so for example if the connection was lost during the flip or if it never connected in the first place, that would be a clear legality, but if it became unconnected after the flip was completed but before it was fully caught it could be counted as an execution error instead, which is a lesser deduction.

Thank you! I really appreciate the way you broke that down. I have to admit I don't know the score sheets as well as I do things like the rule books. So deductions and anything of that nature are harder for me. I might need to start reading up on things soon though.

Can't answer your questions, but when is book 4 coming out??

Book 4 actually came out in April. I might not have posted here since I was so busy with attending local comps and such. But it is out and I am actually in the process of writing book 5 at the moment as well! :)

you write your books so damn fast!!!!!

Haha, yup! I'm took a bit of time off after book 4 since I was going on vacation and all that, but even with that I published the first 4 books in less than a year. And also release two other shower stories during that time as well. When I start writing I just keep going! haha. Book 5 won't be out for a while though, and I'm planning on only releasing two books a year at most now so I can spend more time vlogging and attending events and meeting readers and all that as well. But it's easy to write a LOT and FAST when I love the subject and the characters and all that! haha

Book 4 is called Top Of The Worlds. If you also click on any of the previous books it will show the whole series on that same page as well under tenbook and description for the one you are looking at.

Thanks!! Got it. Funny, cos I both searched the Canadian site, and clicked the link from the US page and neither would bring it up

yeah. that's really weird! I don't know if it's because it doesn't have reviews yet or anything like that or what. I might need to send a message to Amazon to make sure other readers aren't running into that same problem!

I've been enjoying these as a new All Star parent. So is my CP-although she wishes she could get tumbling half so fast as Max does...

That's awesome to hear you've read the books as well. One of my favorite things about these books is that often parents will read along with their child! Now that book one(and soon book two) is out on audio book I'm hoping it will allow families to listen on the ride to and from the gym and make the books something everyone can enjoy together!

If it makes her feel any better, be sure to let your CP know that Max is TERRIBLE at dancing(if you haven't already read that part of the series yet). I had a good friend compare Max to someone who does parkour or is a "trickster," and I think it's a good comparison for sure. She is great at that stuff, but dancing and any of the more girly elements of cheer leave her struggling quite a bit! haha
