High School Whats Your Opinion/proper Cheer Shoes?

well, im guessing you are an elite tumbler or at least an all-star. but everyone knows high school cheerleaders are different. the way they tumble unless they were previously a gymnast or all-star cheerleader isn't always the safest nor prettiest.and often they usually don't understand the art of "preventing injuries"

This is garbage. I’ve got kids who never stepped foot on a gymnastics or all star floor who have better technique than kids who have been in all stars for years. Not all of them are the same.

I don't think vengeances are necessary for HS level. Their whole selling point is that they're light for tumbling, but usually HS teams aren't tumbling the way all-star teams are. They can't; the floors are totally different. There are mat-only comp shoes designed for HS teams that are a bit more durable out there. I've also heard Nike cheer shoes are good for all-surface areas if your team isn't interested in shelling out hundreds for multiple pairs.

I’m going to forward this to the head coach at Ravenwood and see if he/she thinks high school kids can’t tumble...

17 fulls in their tumbling section last year with only 16 kids and no reloading athletes.

I bet they don’t use the floor as an excuse either.

I logged back in just to shimmy this. Ravenwood is the bomb diggity. Blew me away the first time I saw them.

I'm familiar with Ravenwood; yes, they are incredible. I used their seventeen fulls as an example to set for my own team, who up until that point seemed to think that only seven was sufficient.

What I meant was: HS cheer choreography does not typically include pass after pass after pass of lengthy tumbling like you see in all-star tumbling. There simply is no time. It's usually a jump tumble section, a running tumble section, and maybe some super elite cross tumbling from a couple girls here and there. I didn't mean to suggest that a high school team CAN'T tumble like an all-star team, I just meant the choreography of the routine typically doesn't allow for it. Therefore, a tumble-centric shoe isn't super necessary for a HS team, especially given how quickly they fall apart.

I make my high school team get new shoes every year to avoid any of this. But that’s how my coach in high school was and even when I wore my infinity shoes they definitely fell apart sooner (I will say this was when infinity fist came out so it’s been a while)
