Random Question...Have you ever heard of an all-star cheerleader beginning at level 2 and moving to a premier Worlds Team their 2nd year without mastering level 2 tumbling skills? Just trying to figure out if this is normal...

At large well respected gyms I would say no, but have seen it at some small gyms trying to force a L5 team and using kids like this to be used for s specific job and may never do any tumbling.

Does he/she perform elite level tumbling on this worlds team? They might have pulled him/her just to fill a spot. But I cannot see someone gaining level 5 tumbling without mastering level 2. When it comes to hand hand fulls, or even just a roundoff handspring full, you need to learn progressions and a solid handspring....
They Don’t even tumble with multiple BHS

I don't recall a specific instance of this, but I suppose it is possible if they were exceptional at other skills. (but unlikely).

ETA: My "exceptional" may be more strict than most people's.

Never heard of this but according to Bela Karolyi it takes a minimum of 3 hours a week dedicated to one skill to master it and he trained Olympians.

Congrats on the new location!! @BlueCat
Although I'm slightly disappointed it didn't happen like 10 years sooner as I lived in the area for 4 years during college and could have had many more years as a CA athlete haha

Can't compare gymnastic progression to cheer....completely different mindset and teaching ways.

Congrats BlueCat!!!! You must be so proud!

Thank you. We are really excited about our newest location. We will have more information to share soon.

I've always wondered something.
Here in Canada, we're slowly trying to progress, across all levels, to the level of performance and execution of American teams. When you guys take over a new location, it seems those kids really quickly adapt to the "Cheer Athletics" style and expectation of performance and execution on the floor... How do you guys do that? It seems like such an odd question but I struggle a lot as a coach with kids who just do not perform bigger, hit sharper, or focus on small things, no matter how hard we try. What sort of coaching/instruction goes into your performance aspect of your routines? (Obviously you can't reveal all the tricks of your trade)

@BlueCat when you takeover/open a new location how long do you feel it takes for all the new coaches and athletes to meet your gym standards and expectations?

I know you use current staff to train and work with all the new staff but you can’t really do that with athletes or their families.
