All-Star Worlds Age Change???

Personally I don’t understand your rush to have her on a Worlds team, or feeling it’s fly or die. But those are fortunately your issues and not mine. Imho which you’ll most likely disregard anyway, let her enjoy cheer as a young teen, be a leader on a junior 5 team, and maybe even become a little more versatile over the next few years. But what do I know.
I'm not rushing her, she is doing her thing. I was just asking a question...that wasn't answered btw. As far as having issues, I have many but "having her on a worlds team" or "fly or die" aren't any of them. Lol. But thank you for your opinion. I actually am trying to find the positives in this scenario. Imho, which you'll most likely disregard anyway, a healthy debate isn't a bad thing.

Looks like they are trying to prepare everyone for the changes.
I can definitely appreciate this:
"Or what if an athlete doesn’t have the time or financial means to participate in our current structure? Where does he or she go? Many leave the sport. We have a solution to this limitation that will give programs the freedom to structure teams and place athletes so that programs, and the sport, grow and expand."
Thanks USASF

Sounds interesting. I really want to guess & speculate what this can mean... but I don't have a clue? Anyone? Or should we just patiently wait until the 15th?

Doesn't the new international 1-4 already offer a non tumbling division or am I confused? I'm not very familiar with it, so could easily be wrong.

My first thought was non-tumbling divisions, but I really really hope that's not the case. I haven't heard anything about it, it just came to mind when I read that.
My first thoughts are extra levels, 5.2, 4.1, etc. and expanding or changing how prep works. The time/financial line makes it sounds like they'd make prep more appealing? Who knows, two days and we'll find out.

The more I thought of your situation the more I can understand. The wait one more year is not a big deal, two more is. I can think of one child in particular that is my daughters friend in another state who just missed the cut off this year for a worlds team. She is ridiculously talented and mature. I can see how will be a bummer for this kid and others like her.

Tightening age restrictions will not ruin cheer. With that said I have no idea what else may be changed.

Does anyone know, will the rules be released to Coaches and Gym owners only on Thursday or available to everyone?

A lot of the moms I've talked to from tumbling class and/or prep team or just other friends... they say they would never do full year allstar because of the cost and time commitment.

Very curious to see what they have come up with in regards to "time & financial means". It might be good for cheer, not ruining it.

Coming from the early days of all-star and around the time when worlds was first born. I don't understand the rush to get kids on a worlds team so fast, especially now that the summit has been created.
Peoples excuse "well she'll only get four years instead of eight to experience it..." baffles me.
I only got 4 years to experience it and it was plenty enough to be satisfied by the time I aged out. Granted thing have changed, there's a whole lot more selective comps for level 5, etc. But I guess I will never understand the need to have such young kids on level 5, yes if they have the skills early they deserve that right to be on that level, but idk. Personally competing at worlds was awesome, but if a kid ends up only going once or twice they will still have the same experience and memories compared to the kid who went 8 times.
