Never meant for my arena list the other day to be so negative. Overall, our experience this year was a big positive, so I thought I would do another list of some of the positives.

1. The arena, while has some faults, is set up better to view performances so much better. I love being that close to the mat and the kids. I love that we aren't watching from a side angle anymore, getting cricks in our necks all day, or struggling to see with floor seats.

2. Super convenient and easy to arena hop when they're all so close. Arena itself is much closer to the buses, so a much shorter walk, especially when it decides to poor rain out of nowhere!

3. The playback review emails with videos and pictures of deductions is wonderful! Gotta love technology.

4. The warm-up rooms were ran exceptionally well as compared to past years.

5. Checking in with Disney at the front desk as opposed to at Celebrity hall, ran so much smoother! As simple as walking up, telling them our name, getting handed arm bands and walking off. So much easier than any other time before.

6. Love the addition of the big screen streaming HP live out on the food truck field. Maybe it was there before and I never noticed?

7. Girls loved always performing to a packed house. While the crowd is probably no different than before, the smaller partitioned arenas make it feel like there are less empty seats, therefore a more packed feeling. It's not fun performing bright and early to a mostly empty HP or Visa center, so a "packed" smaller arena felt like more of a crowd for them.

8. It was a smart choice to have the shopping tent in a separate area outside of the arena, instead of trying to put it in the hallways.

Now if only our resort cups will work on the arena drink machines next year!

... honestly there were so many variables that weekend it would be way too hard to predict EXACTLY how some details would play out. This year felt twice as big as last year... and let’s face it, nationals only gets bigger and more complicated some schools bringing JV and Varsity squads many doing (game day, world school, getting through prelims, semis and finals)
LOVED the “feel” of performance inside arena, couldn’t get a “bad seat” in the house and YES....warm up room was exceptionally ran... but I always feel that’s solid and organized.

Does anyone know if there a list anywhere of NHSCC winners from previous years?
Only place I know is back through the website (good luck lol). Or in the event programs, they usually list previous winners

Can I ask a quick bid question? How many bids do they give out at Regional events for Rec teams? Is is just first place gets one, are they discretionary? And how about for HS? Is there a cap on number of bids per event?

In years past I believe everyone who scores 70 or above gets a bid. It also depends on the event you attend. I know our regional is one of the first of the season so UCA gives bids away like candy there (even to teams who score below 70).

Edit: 70 or above*

Well... for Rec it’s been pretty consistent for the past few years
I have seen teams score at 70 or above and get bids..
Same for hs
Our regional is live streamed !
the northeast regional is one of the biggest and more difficult to get a bid at
I’ve seen teams that usually do well at nationals not get a bid there and have to go to another regional.

Hope that helps
Also sr Rec division has grown tons In the last few years
We had 7 teams a few years ago and this year we had 16
UCA nationals is growing every year :)
