@BlueCat when you takeover/open a new location how long do you feel it takes for all the new coaches and athletes to meet your gym standards and expectations?

I know you use current staff to train and work with all the new staff but you can’t really do that with athletes or their families.
We haven't really "taken over" a location as all of our facilities are new entities. We try to start up with the same general philosophies and methods from the start. Every location has its own flavor and style, but I do think they tend to all function in basically the same way from the beginning.

@BlueCat Astro cats were amazing! I did have a question about their opening. Is a standing cartwheel into multiple backhandsprings considered a running level 2 pass?

I thought they were doing round-off entries, so I would assume from a legality standpoint what you are talking about is running. However, I do not know how they were scored. (legality and scoring do not necessarily always match.)

Unrelated question: Do you actively coach any team anymore? Which ones?

The way I originally worded that last post was confusing. I do not currently coach a team. I stopped coaching (again) a few years ago. My most recent coaching was with Wildcats and Cheetahs in 2011-2013ish?

It was definitely a cartwheel (one foot at a time to the floor) handspring handspring. (It was very petty) Yes I was trying to figure out if that was considered a running pass since it started with Forward tumbling to be legal in level 2. I hope that makes sense.

Pretty sure they sent that video in for legality, but I was not involved in that. From memory, I'm not sure what USASF's technical distinction between cartwheel and roundoff are, beyond the 1/4 twist and feet ending up together facing towards the start point. If you are considering having a team do that, I would send in a video to USASF.

Petty or pretty? ;)

A cartwheel handspring or series handspring is considered running tumbling for level 2

Just thinking about the cat name possibilities for the PA location excites me, but I still think no team name will ever be able to top Itty Bitty Kitties
Yes, best team name ever! My first thought for PA was types of metals or elements since it's the Steel City. Like titanium, copper, iron, steel, etc, though some of that could potentially overlap with Austin (chrome, platinum). But I'm excited to see what they decide for the theme.

That's an AWESOME idea!
