All-Star Your/your Cp's Tryout Goals For 2018/2019?

That confuses me. Doesn't prep typically have a separate tryout/sign ups?

I did not know you could go to AS tryouts and be placed on prep. I always thought that if you attended the AS tryout/evals, it was assumed that you wanted to be on an actual AS team?

They do full year prep teams and usually one half year team. The full year teams try out at the same time but do indicate they are doing prep. I will get a credit in her account since we've been paying AS tuition, happened last time too. The way they do it works, our lower level teams are usually very successful.

CP is a little disappointed. At least right now, we don’t have enough full-year prep athletes to let us have a 2.1 or 3.1 and a 1. So, since she really can’t do the travel schedule for All Star, she’s kind of resigned to another season of level 1.

I wanna wrap that girl up in bubble wrap! Prayers for a speedy recovery!!!

Sorry about the World's team, but glad she is super excited to be on RC. Does this mean her dreams of track full time are pushed off by a year? I love that she's doing both!

Not allowed? That doesn't sound good, fingers crossed you find a better fit!!!

My cheerleader has decided rec is boring and she wants to go back to a gym. I have zero idea what to do with that because I have zero desire to find a gym to put her in (youngest, not oldest). I have zero belief that she can go meltdown free for an entire year and she is too high functioning to put on a special needs team---maybe half-season? I don't know...I wish she didn't want to cheer at all. Life would be easier. Older asked to go to a tumbling class, it didn't work into our schedule and then she made sure I paid for summer running camp. I don't see her coming back, but stranger things could happen I guess.
Well after the fiasco of my kiddo not being allowed to try out for a world team and choosing to leave her gym, she is on a world team now at another gym. She was broken hearted and I was sad for her. She had stated that she knows what a sacrifice it is for us to spend so much money on her with only one income in the house and said if she could not try out for a worlds team then she didn't want us to keep sacrificing for her to not even have a chance to go to worlds when that has been her end goal for years. She always wanted to cheer at a specific location and be coached by a specific coach but since she was told she would never be allowed to go to that location as long as she cheered at her old gym, she decided to quit all together. I just couldn't imagine her not cheering and not having a chance to go to worlds. She's been cheering for 9 or 10 years and has 3 years left in high school, so 3 years left to go to worlds. So I convinced her to go to another gym which is a bit farther away from us but not so far that it would deter me from trying to make her dreams come true. She went to try out and was very excited to be placed on one of the two worlds teams at this gym. She is a happy girl now and momma is happy too. Now if we can just squeeze one more cheer year out of our budget, our car, and my old bones driving her to practices, it will be worth it to see her have a chance at her dream finally. Blessed to have scholarship funds to help pay costs though. That helps a lot! ;)

Congrats to her and I hope she truly enjoys herself after dealing with not being allowed to tryout

I’m glad she found a fit. Question though. Why wasn’t she allowed to try out at her old gym? And to be told she’d never be allowed? That seems harsh.

I noticed team placements being announced by the kids on Twitter. What team did your CP’s end up on ??
@123jump4!
@SthrnCheerMom
@justpeachy
And others of course!!

I don't think I posted in this thread but since you asked... CP was on a level 2 half year team and did good. She was excited to get on a level 2 full year team. Shock horror when she was put on level 1!

She's been very loyal to the gym until then. Said she wanted to be on 2 or not cheer at all.

Did a private tryout at another gym that I had heard good things about, was put on Y2. She LOVES her new team and coaches. I like it too.

So, similar to @Lisa Seye we were pushed to switch but it probably is for the best.

Wow that's unbelievably harsh. If you don't mind me asking what was their issue? And good luck to her at her new gym! Sometimes a change is needed

I am still so glad you made the jump and she gets to follow her dreams. You already know my thoughts on the situation and I will forever think they're nuts, but I can't wait to watch her kill it at world's in the spring!

Yeah!!!! So glad she's liking the new program. I think sometimes you've got to change it up until it clicks. Fingers crossed for a successful season!

I have a hard time figuring out how they think that is a good decision. It apparently affected another kid too and she also left.
