...and spectators? How in the world could they enforce/police that?

For those who have attended in the past, are the rooms through connections housing more expensive or are they reasonably priced? I just don't understand why they got rid of so many of the exceptions especially the gov/mil rate exception and family in the area. That's going to hurt a lot of people.

From my experience, STP was more expensive for hotels closer to the competition venue than my corporate discount and my Marriott Rewards discount. Not a huge price difference when the hotels were further away from the competition venue.

Ditto Charolais...and I may add if you dont want to book at least 3 or 4 nights you cannot book a very close hotel thru connections. (Or couldnt last yr at least) We live in Dallas so we are good, but we chose to stay downtown a few times because of weather concerns and so we could be there to support some of our friends. But I dont need 3 nights.

Always more expensive. This year, the exact same hotel which is a 3 night minimum and $225/night plus taxes and fees through connections housing (plus I remember paying $10/person through them as well) is $189/night with a AAA membership and no minimum stay.

Is the connections housing listing out already?

Husband & I stayed almost in Richardson at a STP-approved hotel (cp stayed downtown w/team), and I thought our room was affordable/reasonable. It only took us 20 mins from door to drop-off at KBH center.
