I was a little annoyed at the NBC coverage turning it into The Simone Show where they played every event of hers in full twice and her name was brought up even when others were competing. A tiny part of me wonders if Morgans post wasnt so much directed towards Simone but the interviewers/commentators/media personnel instead and Simone took it to heart.
It could well be, but Simone didn't ask the media to make it all about her, and if I was Simone and my "teammate" (I use that term loosely since gymnastics is really an individual sport) called me a b**** publicly on social media I'd have the same reaction.

Granted screenshots with blacked out usernames is not really evidence I would use to determine validity, but for the sake of it being on the internet and everything on the internet being true, and I’m sure someone out there personally knows and verified so
I’ll just roll with it.

17 is old enough to know better than to call someone a b on the internet and 21 is old enough to know that everything doesn’t need a response. “Emotional maturity stunted by Gymnastics aside” those are two basic human decencies/concepts that transcend the chalk bucket. I mean I assume they have at least some exposure to the real world.

Truth be told this type of bratty behavior is why it makes me, as an adult, almost uncomfortable to watch gymnastics. On one hand it’s a sport...and in some regards a professional sport akin to all the others but on the other hand I see enough middle school drama August-June 5th....and since they peak at 16 and they apparently have stunted maturity it comes with the territory.

I’m sure it wouldn’t harm them to stay off social media while they’re in the competitive season. Seems to work for a lot of collegiate sports teams. Hopefully they’ll be in better head spaces by mid August.

And as far as the “better get your girl” that’s a colloquialism that it’s probably best to not assume everyone gets. I can potentially see how a 12 year old in Nebraska could have interpreted that as “attack Morgan”

Becky Downie got injured in April last year, she was in the squad for the European games that start tomorrow and has injured herself in podium training. Poor girl can't catch a break at the moment:(.

It's kinda sad for Becky Downie at this point. She was injured last year and again this year right before Euros. Couldn't imagine how that would feel both physically and mentally. Hope she recovers quickly.

In other news, I saw Aliya training a Ricna on her insta :D

Euros was cancelled in my head after Eythora Thorsdottir broke her fingers during the LAST PRACTICE right before she had to fly to Glasgow... I was so upset.

But yeah, Romania continues to be on the struggle bus after failing to qualify to the team finals for the first time ever (like, EVER).

On the other hand, France and Belgium really showed up. Very unfortunate to hear that Belgium will most likely pull out of team finals though because they’re down to 3 gymnast and they’d all have to do AA. The coaches want to reserve them for EFs... but like potential for a team medal, hello?!!

I’m sad Aleexeva didn’t hit beam, her one shot at an EF, a damn good one too... she’s the only Russian who didn’t qualify for an EF. She has TF to redeem herself, so I hope she shows Europe what she’s capable of.

For anyone who wants to catch up on routines, here’s a YouTube channel that has recorded and uploaded a tonne of videos from QF:

Things to appreciate:
1.) BB EF lineup (I’m so excited for this)
2.) The Dutch on FX
3.) The French on BB (they seriously slayed)
4.) Adlertag competing in the first subdivision and her UB score holding up in first place right till the end, even ahead of Derwael!!
5.) UKRAINE MADE THE TF, I am HERE for a Ukrainian WAG resurgence... even if it meant sacrificing Romania to the gym Gods.
6.) Pauline Schäfer’s “Schäfer” never gets old.
7.) Team France sitting in first.

Sorry or double post but sooo proud of Jonna (Alderteg) for coming back from several injuries to this first place in Qualifing. Sweden is not a big gynmastics country (YET) so im proud to say we also got a girl doing her first senior europeans in the floor finals!! (i think..)

I’m seeing a lot of backlash towards Team Belgium on social media (both towards the federation and individual gymnasts).

At least they withdrew and gave another team another chance? Rather than compete and only perform half-heartedly to spare themselves for EFs.

Ragan Smith isn’t in a condition to compete... her coaches should be ashamed for not putting a stop to this. It will only get worse.

I feel bad for Ragan, she is one of those who peaked at the wrong time. Remind me, has she gone pro? If not, she should be looking towards college.

She has not gone pro and I believe she's committed to Oklahoma. Every time she did a hard landing I winced for her ankle, I wish she would just pull out of the competition and let herself heal so she can hopefully have a successful NCAA career.

Ragan makes me so sad. She is my favorite gymnast and should have gone to Rio and not as an alternate. In trials she placed fifth, that spot was really hers and she would have helped far more than Gabbie did that year.
