All-Star Is Summit Political??

Was this a 2 day or 1 day comp? I ask because I thought only WC were given at 1 day and AtLG and PAID at 2 day? And does the highest score in the entire competition rule apply to 2 day comps for bid awards? If so and everything you mentioned above is correct you may have a valid argument that a mistake may have been made somehow. But, I do not think it is POLITICAL because all of the comps we have been to this season (four 1 day comps so far) have awarded bids based off scores pretty accurately. And we have seen some of those teams repeat as division winners win with the highest score at more than one event and the only reason why they did not get a "bid" was because they had already grabbed one at another comp. So again it may very well be a mistake and the gym owners should talk to the EP for more information. Now, this would not be a problem if they would just release the raw scores especially since bids are based entirely off of the score this season or at least post the team score of the team who won the bid in the bid reveals. JS

It was a two day. I saw the scores from day 1 (comp posted) and they were the highest in division. They hit on day 2. Went on to win grand champs, and didn’t get a bid. Something isn’t right.

A lot of comps (not all but a lot) are posting scores. I saw that COA and UCA both posted day 1 scores as well as final scores this weekend. There have been others I've looked at that posted scores.

The EP took results down but they don’t post scores. They did for level 4 on day on but that was it. I just think the whole way Summit bids are run is political. There was no way this team should have not gotten a bid. Hopefully the EP makes it right.

Pretty sure I know what event and team you're talking about and I am also very surprised to learn they didn't get a bid. I did feel like their was some favoritism at this event but bid wise that has to be a mistake? Both level 4 grand Champs and level 5 grand did not get bids but other teams from level 4 and 5 did? Doesn't seem right....

Did this happen to be a level 4.2/5/5R team? I believe all of those level go against each other for bids. If a 4.2 wins grand for their division, I believe they can still get beat out by a 5 or 5R team if their scores were higher.

There is definitely a glitch in the matrix...I am still hoping the EP makes it right. Or other EPS will read this and make sure they do things right.

Looks like the EP made this right. A simple, or not so simple, mistake. People make mistakes, heck last year a team was named first place at Summit and it was another team that really got first.

Nope, you’re not missing anything. A team that scored the highest in a competition, won their entire division (grand champs) got snubbed on getting a Summit bid. They didn’t have a bid going into the competition, they did not say they would only take a paid bid, they didn’t pass the bid up, they just weren’t awarded a bid. Teams that scored lower than them got bids. So I ask if the bidding process is political, as I suspect it is.

Was this at a competition in IL? If so, I believe the team you are talking about already had a full paid bid.

They did not, but the EP just awarded them a paid bid. It’s good to see an EP make things right. Especially for this gym. I remember several years ago one of their teams got 1st at WSF, but the coaches noted something was off with the scoring and they knew they weren’t supposed to be first. They immediately went to the EP and they gave their first place to the second place (who was really supposed to be first in the first place).

Seems like they made a few mistakes and had to award 3 or 4 extra bids. Oh my. Well at least they made it right.
