Obviously, there are the obvious...Cheer shoes, makeup, etc.
What else do you pack, above and beyond, to get you through a day of Summit?
For the cheerleader?
For the spectator?

Thanks!!

Portable phone charger
Snacks
Refillable water bottles
Ear plugs
Book/Kindle
Sweatshirt/sweater (sometimes venues can get cold)

I am impressed with your early planning!! :)

Sunscreen bc there are a lot of outdoor things at WWoS (beer garden, lines to get in new venue-lol)

It's our first year "cheering" and our gym's first time to Summit! Trying to be prepared...and not get overwhelmed!

Oh, yes. Sunscreen.

FYI for anyone needing it - SuperGoop makes a finishing spray sunscreen, so you can spray it right over a full face of makeup. I wish I'd had that when I was cheering for touch ups while in Florida.

Extra sanitary napkins AKA pads and tampons. Even if you know for a fact you're fine, its nothing wrong with being a team player and being willing to be someone life saver!

You can just get the cheap ones from the dollar store too.

Hand sanitizer sometimes bathroom stalls are way too full and busy to be waiting to wash your hands. HS is quick and you wont have to worry about loosing your team members trying to wait on the next available sink

Agreed on everything listed above and adding travel size tylenol, advil, etc

Us too! Just got our bid Monday and are beyond excited to be going. The girls are over the moon as this is a brand new team for all!

We are a very prepared family and gym but have found that these have proved very helpful to us over the years for huge comps:

-A change of weather resistant shoes/flip flops. We’ve seen girls walk all around Disney and have had to get carried when it started raining so they would ruin your shoes.
-Portable charger (or multiple ) can be hard to get outlets if you really need to be on your phone.
-Extra/Old cheer clothes or bows that are nice enough to trade. (Depends on gym policies and such) My kiddo LOVES trading with other gyms. She’s even scored some worlds team gear out of this.
-Travel Umbrella/Poncho
-Mini sewing kit in case of emergencies
-Earplugs/Noise cancelling headphones-especially if you’ve got a little one in tow or someone with sensitive ears. Summit and Worlds make the average local cheer comp seem quiet lol.
-Hand sanitizer, wipes, Advil
-A separate camera if you have one. There will be many photo opportunities and your phone battery will drain VERY quickly.
-Patience-lines get LONG. If you have a younger age team/kids warn them in advance and possibly plan games for the line.
-Cash- seems obvious but we’ve forgotten this.
-Extra bobby pins.
-This one sounds a bit odd but A change of undies for younger kids that may have accidents or older athletes that haven’t started their period yet. Rather be safe than sorry and be able to have an easier resolution to the problem. (Similar to what an earlier posted said feminine products as well-never known when things might strike!)
-Tide pen/stain remover.
-Change of shorts (like Nike pros) if you don’t want to walk in your uni all day.
-Secret Disney themed gifts. Kids might want to buy anything and everything there. Go to the Disney outlet beforehand (or even just a normal store with Disney merch) and keep it hidden in your bag for when they demand presents. We’ve found authentic ears and such at outlet stores for 75% of the price. Serves as a nice lesson for managing money and how to get the most bang for your buck!

-Cheap little gifts from the dollar store or places like Oriental trading. My daughter has handed out random packs of hair ties or other little goodies, especially to youth teams and it’s made her very popular at these kinds of comps.

Wishing you an amazing time at Summit! :)

For those who have BTDT, is a comp day like a typical comp day, in temrs of structure? For example, we always gather as a team 2 hours before we are set to arrive and do hhair and make up together, then head to the venue for our assigned check-in, warm-ups, etc. Once they compete, we hang out with our athletes until awards. I know obviously there are not awards until Sunday, so curious what happens after they go on? We have a wild card bid, so are competing Friday and hoping to advance to Sunday. When do they announce top teams who are advancing?

IIRC, there is a pseudo-awards on Friday where they list the placements and who is moving on.
