Coming back to high school after doing all star for 3 years - I thought it would be a better experience going to Florida after the debacle of Summit last year.

I'm not thinking so. My daughter's team just got their bid this past weekend and there are no rooms left on any disney property. It's ridiculous that they have you jump through hoops to try to get a room on property.

Even if her team manages to get in - we already booked at a nearby hotel and will do the commuter package.
Yeah, we registered and paid our deposit a month prior to attending a bid comp (Oct). Its rough. And that is with UCA getting all 3 All Star hotels, blocks at Coronado, Caribbean, and Pop Century. Such a masssssssive comp (especially now that it is officially a 3-day comp)

It's so tough! We also book pending bids so it helps, but we are lucky to be in the position to do so, not everyone is that fortunate. I feel as if they need to open all of Coronado and Art of Animation OR have an agent ready to book off prop.. a lot of people I know love the commuter packages, especially for small/medium teams. We take 50+ kids so it is a little tough but I have heard amazing things of staying off if you can!

We received our bid this past weekend and were told there was no availability at any of the Disney properties. Anyone run into this too?

Where are you staying offsite? Is there transportation? How many chaperones are you bringing, are you you concerned about them being off-site?

still staying on site where transportation is included.

i know from other coaches and my own past experiences that you can get Mears van shuttles planned for several days for "cheap" or do rental vans from a company (though that requires added official chaperones)--will seem a lot but the cost savings will be valid in comparison to staying on site.

we just bring myself and my wife (both official coaches) and then an admin team member from the school joins us (AD, Dean, AP)

we are in the same position. We booked at a nearby hotel. Kind of glad this happened now because it's saving us like $600

I know we don't receive tickets until arrival, but is it possible to link on site reservation to My Disney Experience?

Two more questions that parents are asking me, I looked but couldn't find, are there start and end times listed for the party in DHS and MK? And to piggy back on that, do you need a park ticket to attend, or for instance, if someone on commuter purchases the ticket to the events is that sufficient for entry?

I know for Disney hard ticket events such as the Christmas or Halloween parties, your ticket to the event is all you need and it gets you into the parks a few hours prior to party start time.

No... your “band” that you purchase gets you in

There are set times for the events at the parks. Each need a band as mentioned above. Commuter packages I believe have to purchase the bands separately (i could be wrong) from UCA.

And as far as the App/myDisney stuff, I have heard that it is very tricky currently with the group set up. Havent tried it personally so I dunno to be certain

Bumping since we’re two weeks away

Apparently the performance order is out but for coaches only. I’ll edit this post once the schedule is out on UCA’s site.
