All-Star Summit Scores

Well the Varsity site used to have scores I just looked at them maybe a couple of weeks ago...

Agree that Summit is no longer exclusive. We've been to comps where teams get a bid because they are the only level 4 or 5 that shows up. There's a comp here this weekend with 9 bids and something like only 25 eligible teams (and a lot of those teams already have bids).

Didn’t someone post Summit 2018 scores somewhere? Winning Summit teams, what score range. Our team just received a bid on Monday night however our scores IMO are not high enough for us to be competitive their, our routine has consistently only score in the 96 range.

Scoring differences can also happen by region as there have been discrepancies with inconsistencies in the past. A routine can get a 98 at one competition and be a 94 or 5 at another. It just depends on how harsh or lenient the scoring was on the day so that is maybe something to take into account as well.

Honestly my daughter has been cheering for a long time and I’ve finallly accepted that you can not compare scores between competitions in any meaningful way- not between teams or even your own team. I’ve seen the same hit routine score 2+ points differently from one competition to another a week apart. There are just too many variances in judging and even comparative scoring.

Funny the D2 results have scores but not the D1 Summit.
Wonder if that massive screw up in JR5 has anything to do with that?

Not that it probably matters, but the announcement/placing error happened in Sr5R all girl-large. It was between stingrays and gym Tyme

They incorrectly used the placement announcement from day 1. And announced that as the final placements. My kiddo's team had moved up a spot, another team moved down a spot or two, 1st and 2nd interchanged day 1 to day 2. A mess because of a single error in someone printing off the wrong day.

The unfortunate part is social media has no patience, it's self serving and it demands immediate response. Whoever was in charge did the right thing by concentrating on those athletes, gym owners and coaches the issue concerned. If it wasn't deliberate, it was smart IMO, to cease posting scores that people on social media would have picked apart and caused more damage than good, to children, even though the situation had nothing to do with judging. Kids were being ridiculed, criticized and the insults retweeted on social media for something they had absolutely no control over while adults were trying to comprehend, ask questions, and sort things out. This is why we can't have nice things.

@darlingsmomx4 I used to track my kids scores until I realized those scores really only applied and held consistent to that specific arena at that event. I enjoyed following cp's competition, so I would just keep track of those teams that consistently were placing first. Even then, oldest cp had one year they lost every single comp of the season to the same team, but beat them at the Summit.
