I think this competition was the first time I've ever watched Super Seniors. I might've done there "Super Seniors" arm motions;)

At Large Non Tumble Bid Winner: MD Twisters Thin ICE

Trying to figure out where is the last 25 seconds of their routine. They scored pretty good considering it wasnt a whole routine. The other 2 teams were not doing as high a level stuff on some of their stunts and one did an assisted back tuck which fell and of course got a deduction. Not sure what was the point in putting assisted tumbling into the routine. I understand tumbling into a stunt but just tumbling randomly just to tumble seems odd in a nontumble routine. But still where is the rest of this team's routine? And if they were missing 25 seconds, how did they score so well?

I asked that in the random thread section. I didn't know assisted/spotted tumbling were legal in NT?

Hmmmm... I didn't initially notice they were missing ~25 seconds. I went back and looked at the videos from the other two non-tumble teams and their routines were definitely much longer.

I was also curious about the assisted standing tucks in the routine and wondered if they may have received a penalty since the scores were so much lower compared to the winning routine.

I really dont know exactly what was missing from the MD team routine. They definitely had better stunts and technique though. I dont know what's up with assisted tumbling. I have seen some teams do it randomly and some do it into stunts. Not just this one team.

I believe Thin Ice had five practices before this event. The routine was definitely put together as safe as possible to increase the chances of earning a bid. Now that the bid is secured, the routine will be getting upgrades in both skills set and length. Super proud of those athletes!

It seems very clear in the NT rules that tumbling is not allowed with very few exceptions and teams are supposed to receive a 2 point deduction. I'd love to have clarification on why these teams are tumbling and why they aren't getting the required deductions.

I wonder if they can hit the score sheet appropriately in less time, they just don't go as long? Theres no penalty for a shorter routine that I'm aware of.

I believe it’s counted as a stunt or pyramid since they are spotted and I think that’s where the loophole is...I think?!

If it is legal, we might see teams getting spotted on jump tuck which might boost up creativity?
