Anyone going?

I'm personally curious to see if the usual UCA/USA crossover teams that didn't make it to UCA this year will show up at USA (Mater Dei, Eldo, etc.) and what they'll look like. Although if they didn't make it to UCA, I can't imagine it's because their programs are exactly excelling... But who knows.

I switched to coaching at a new school this year (because of the teaching, not because of the coaching, but it just made sense to coach where I teach), and am bringing my new kiddos from Youngker in AZ. School has existed for 10 years, cheer team has never qualified for state or nationals, and I started my season with one girl who had cheered the year before...so we're competing Small Novice haha. I'm pretty excited for them though, we've been working hard to make sure what we put on the mat is something we're proud of.

All my athletes from my old school, unfortunately, are not as lucky. New coach didn't want to bring them to Nationals even though they made finals for the first time last year. Heartbreaking to see, especially since the team last year only had two seniors, so they should've been a powerhouse in Intermediate this year with all the returners.

Hey, gotta start somewhere.

I do like that USA offers difficulty divisions. It gives newer teams a chance to accomplish something without facing 10-time veteran champ teams. And there’s less potential for sandbagging at the JV level.
