I was recently following a situation in MO in which a dance coach was FIRED due to racism and basically bullying only Black dancer on team.

Stipulations of her removal stated that she could not coach the dance team or attend dance team events.

LOOPHOLE: She has been found to be attending events anyway and they can't say anything because she is allowed to (for example) be in the stands at a game. She is technically not coaching. Annoying.

Maybe this is the same situation (ex: thumbing nose at the rule and saying "but I'm not COACHING SO you can't do anything. I'm allowed to just BE HERE.)

Why would you even want to show your face at an event after being fired for something like that? She must be a real piece of work.

Let's be real. Scott appears (APPEARS) to be backstage, coaching and going about his everyday life as the owner of Rockstar. Nothing has changed, and nobody gives a darn. His ties to Varsity mean he will never be held accountable in the way a small gym owner would be.

Note: I worked for Scott for years at WSF and thought he was nothing but nice. He had great ideas, and knows cheer. This is nothing on him personally, because I have nothing negative to say about him.

BUT, why have punishment if you aren't going to enforce it? I would rather USASF just say "we don't care" rather than pretend like they do. They want Rockstar money at Varsity events, and that trumps all.

How does one tell which gym/owner it is associated with a listed offense?
The lists of sanctions don’t identify the program, or the coach/owner. So I’m also pretty curious. It kind of seems like USASF is relying on the honor system for any sanctions outside of fines. I’m sure they take the fines right away.

The fact that it all is not public knowledge is also baffling. If I'm going to join a gym, I want to know if there have been issues with USASF, but god forbid we hold gyms accountable.
Exactly.
I think you just have to connect the dots between disciplinary reports, behavior, and rumours.
In some cases sure. But I’m thinking it is a pretty clear that gyms don’t actually have to be accountable for their violations this way.

Everyone it is all okay, remember Scott suspended himself from coaching for an entire weekend last year. Underage drinking made possible by a gym owner who was also drinking with the athletes has been appropriately self punished. Nothing to see here...

That's right - I forgot he very humbly "suspended" himself for a weekend last season (eye roll)
The fact he was on video handing out 20 dollar bills at UCA to Beatles while supposedly being under USASF sanctions is laughable.
It is things like this (among other things) that cause the common parent to lose all confidence in this sport and cause the industry of all star cheer itself to suffer from credibility issues.

Funny you mention this..we went to our first dance comp...my CP wanted to support her BFF from school who is a dancer. It was like being taken back 50 years in terms of sexism/racism...lots of songs about getting a man, and one song about made me fall out of my seat...lyrics were "white folks have the brains, black folks have the moves" SO INAPPROPRIATE. ugh..

I'll take cheer over that any day.

for everything that happened you would think he would try to be quiet and stay under the radar...instead of putting that video up of him handing out money to the kids. even if it was a joke...
