Though it's a bit annoying only having one division = one judges panel and longer breaks, I needed this to regroup. Feels like I've barely taken a breath since I got home 3 hours ago. [emoji23]

ETA: and two arenas on break, this is heaven!

ETA2: Just realized all three are on break, Jesus heard me lol.

I tend to have same attitude about Cheetahs or really any other team with the smaller middle school type flyers. As a coach, I get the "work smart not harder" aspect of putting your smallest most talented flyers up.

They are amazing but when they have falls I'm like "SHE IS 75 POUNDS AND YOU ARE MOST LIKELY TWO HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE AGED MALES - ADJUST YOUR ALMOST GROWN MAN GRIP UP THERE AND HOLD HER WHOLE LEG IF YOU HAVE TO. YOU CAN LITERALLY HOLD THE KNEE. WHAT."

Yeap, exactly this. I think the hair also makes them look younger and gives a different overall appearance than some of the other teams that also have smaller flyers.

Probably that. I think Steel has similarly smaller/younger flyers as well but the hairstyle/styling is such that they look older.

I get “work smarter” too, but there’s also something to be said for taking pride in your work. I’d hope that such a powerhouse gym could produce strong flyers and bases even after the flyer hits triple digit weight... at age 16.

Maybe you're thinking of a different year. SE had the partner stunt fall Day 2 last year and had a 3pt deduction and got 4th last year. Just checked the scores to be sure.

Oh that's right, thank you! The two man came down I totally forgot. The rest of it was beautiful though!

I think people would be surprised at the age of Cheetahs flyers. Most of them have been on the team for 2, 3, 4+ years. It's not like they just replace them every year with 13 year olds, they're just small girls.

They had an issue and deduction day 1 but hit zero day 2. Just lost to an amazing panther routine!

I'm sorry, you were right! The two man came down at the beginning of the routine.

I feel like this has happened before...maybe not last year, but the year prior. 4 American teams went through and even Canada had a meltdown about it. I don't remember the outcome...other than all 4 US teams still went through, but this isn't the first time USASF/ICU doesn't follow their own rules.
They have just said that they will only place the top scoring 3 USA teams in finals, so whoever the 4th place (USA) team is they won’t be given a placement.

@CoachTamara

Sometimes I just don't understand these sorts of things. My goddaughter was a backspot on her MS team this year and is tallest on the team. She has a teeny flyer and they had a SF at their last comp of the season. I was like "SHE IS THE SIZE OF A THIRD GRADER YOU COULD LITERALLY REACH UP AND HOLD HER INTO A PREP POSITION BY HER BUTT. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN. LOL."

I get that. I was the smallest person on my teams in HS all the time. I also work in a HS and I swear kids get smaller and smaller every year. There is a 16 year old on the dance team that may be 4'8. She is tiny.

Please send some little ones my way. All my HS flyers are the same size as the bases and we struggle bus with stunts every single year. It’s depressing.
