Ok NO clue how I just found this out but my old tumbling coach is permanently banned from USASF and has criminal charges for sexually assaulting a minor?! I used to do private lessons with him as a kid. I’m so disgusted. Why do people suck!?

Eeeeck! People do super suck sometimes. One time a higher up at my private college got indicted in the church sex abuse scandal. The man got me into the school and sent my family an email congratulating me before official acceptance letters went out. People are gross, even the ones you like sometimes.

I quit my job this morning and my manager is presently spiraling out of control. She asked me how I could do this to her, and I tried to point out that it wasn't TO her it was FOR me, but that absolutely fell on deaf ears.

It's not exactly a bad thing that I'm leaving this place....

hello fierce friends, long time no see (basically dropped off the face of the planet during college lol). howwwww does one decide what to do with their life after college? I graduate with my MBA in May 2020 (just graduated BSIE as part of a 4 + 1 program) but am interning rn and my manager wants me to have an offer in my hands when I leave which is kinda freaking me out. That being said... anyone have experience living in Seattle, Philadelphia, or Charleston and want to share their thoughts??

Do you know what industry/field you want? It's ok if you don't.

Obvious tips are have a strong resume/cover letter, apply to as many jobs as you can, clean up/lock down your social media, and prepare for whatever interviews you land.

Apart from Indeed and LinkedIn, don't be afraid to check out Craigslist for jobs - sometimes you find weirdos but sometimes legitimate businesses/startups who need to fill a position quickly will post openings there, too. (But obviously research the situation before hand.)

ETA: I offer the Craigslist tip since your manager is pushing a deadline on you... but don't be disappointed if you don't meet that deadline. The job hunt game is tricky and 50% of it is stuff you have no control over. Also, don't settle for anything you don't want just because your manager has given you a deadline. Be picky about what you want out of the new company and what it will mean for your career path.

Those three locations are for if I stay with the company I’m currently interning with! Which it’s my second summer here so obviously I enjoy it. I really like my current team but not the location, so if I go full time here I’m trying to explore my options location-wise. My manager can help me network with people at other locations but obviously it’s a little easier to do so while I’m here this summer, rather than waiting until I’m back at school, so I think that’s why he’s wanting to kind of get it sorted out while I’m here. Honestly I knew coming in that if interns are being extended full time offers, it typically happens at the end of the summer, it’s just now that summer’s here it feels scary all of a sudden!!

There are a lot of really interesting opportunities work-wise at each location I mentioned (not an extensive list of all my options, but those are the three branches I’m most interested in) so if I could even prioritize which city is *most* interesting to me it would narrow down the hunt a little bit to find the right people to talk to.

Basically I’m really indecisive about everything right now, there are rotational programs to apply for, I could just go full time no rotational program, or I could go apply for jobs outside the company too... eek. Life was easier when I knew I’d be interning again the next summer vs making real life big kid decisions!!

(Obviously nothing is a sure thing right now, I’m not saying “yeah I’ll get a job for sure i just need to decide where”, but if I’m wanting to pursue something with this company I do need to do some prioritizing this summer)

I'm a Philly native - feel free to ask me any questions!

What part of Philly? I live in the suburbs.

Hey everyone!

I didn’t want to start a new thread anywhere so I’m posting in here.

Our little program needs a permanent home and we’re running into a few financial barriers (like over $60k needed for renovations like bathrooms)

We have a Go Fund Me campaign going. Here’s the link if you’re interested in watching our video or donating.

Even sharing the post would be appreciated
