what is everyone thinking of the show?

Love it.

I love how Ryan jumps into stunts. The best I can ever do is jump in as back. Which I mean obviously since I’m a grown woman amongst teenagers.

I hate college practice wear. Hate it so much. Loose and baggy. Not into it. I can feel the sweat buildup in the armpits as a write this. And I’m wearing a tank.

I love Kevin and his penchant for XXL super sugary coffee drinks. Such a boy. I’d kill to have a resting metabolism like that.

Im really enjoying watching the community feel in at Ole Miss.

It’s a bit of a downer knowing how things turned out with all the teams, but am still enjoying the ride.

Overall, two poms up.

I wish they followed more of Ole Miss cheer, last weeks episode focused almost solely on Dunbar. And I also wish they focused on the All Girl team too. Like, all girl won Game Day in 2018 and they had a stunt group take 4th this year... However, I love college/level 7 cheer, so I wouldn’t be mad if it was exclusively Ole Miss.
But I love the show and look forward to watching it every week regardless!

I’m low-key wondering if maybe Dunbar in particular didn’t do well last year because the presence of the film crew was a distraction. I was vaguely aware they didn’t make it out of finals at UCA — which was surprising — but I just watched their performance and ooof... they were not the team we’ve come to know. Hopefully it was just a down year. It happens.

I often wonder that about Smoed. It seems they won Worlds more before the youtube show took off.

I wonder same in regards to the trend of athletes vlogging/filming their YouTube shows from comps, practices, etc.

From a coaching perspective, that has to be distracting for kids.

I am surprised more of their gyms/coaches don't ban cameras/vlogging and such during practice?

They only won once before the show started (twice if you count their junior coed year). And it was reaalllly popular, even that first year. They have won 4 times since.

Then I was wrong, the show hasn't hurt their wins.

I think with AS, coaches definitely think there’s something to having a social media presence if only from a business standpoint. So while those videos about “Look how fun and funny we here at CA are!” might be a distraction for a few minutes, it might be worth it in terms of the new customers they bring in.

I firmly believe one of the reasons SE is so stacked this year is because of their social media presence. Technically SE doesn’t have the most skilled athletes — CA does — but they’ve got very social media-friendly uniforms and routines that make their cheerleaders a joy to watch.

Call me a traditionalist but:

Still not sure I like it.

Vlogs and "awe cuteeee" don't win comps or make money.

I doubt parents are forking over $x,000 because of vlogs and "omg so cute."

Loving this show. I didn't get to watch the original one way back cos of no cable tv in Canada, but I agree that I love how it's all about cheer and not unnecessary drama. Though I do feel there's a lot of flyer blaming front the coaches, though that could just be editing based on which athletes are being featured more. But it always seems to be the flyers fault for stunts when it's clear to see basing problems too.

That’s all true, but if I’m a little kid/teen and I see a gorgeous and talented cheerleader looking like she’s having the time of her life at her gym on IG, then I’m for sure telling my mom I want to cheer at THAT gym. Because I want to be THAT girl. It’s just another way to advertise.

That’s my theory anyway. Because otherwise I don’t know what reason coaches could have for allowing girls to take videos during practice time. It’s SUCH a distraction.

I love true life I’m a cheep and I’ve been following them since. I still have cheerleader nation on iTunes. I’m really excited to watch since Ryan was/still is (?) pregnant with her first child. I feel really old now.

ETA: she had her baby.

I wonder if her son is gonna grow up to be a cheerleader just like his mommy? Hmm...

Doe anyone know of there is a way to watch online in Canada? We don’t have cable and I haven’t been able to find it
