I think Laurie is at Gym Max, which is where Laney trains as well. I could be totally off, but I feel like that is what I pieced together awhile back.

You are correct, Laurie is training at Gym-Max with Kyla Ross's old coaches! This article says she's been there since October 2018.

Laurie Hernandez: My focus is next year OlympicTalk

I obviously wish her the best but the field is sooooo thick with talent right now that I don't see how she'll have a chance with only a year or two of training and a few months of competitions. Last year she said she wanted to try to make Worlds 2019 but has pushed back her return date to early 2020.

I think Morgan not throwing her full difficulty is what's keeping her low in the rankings. She must be pacing herself to throw full difficulty (or at least, more than now) at Nationals in hopes for Worlds.

And agreed about Laurie. I want so bad for her to make a comeback but the time is not on her side right now.

She looked really hesitant to do it during that podium training. I wonder if/when she's going to compete it. Probably sooner than Tokyo?
I would have questioned her status as a human if she wasn’t hesitant, it’s such a difficult skill.

She performed it last night and it looked so much better than what she did in PT. I wonder whether F.I.G. will rate it the same value as what U.S. judges have rated it. We have not seen a skill rated above a G on BB before, so this would be a first.

I had to rewind it (and her vaults!) a couple times because I was just so blown away with it that I needed to re-see it to digest and fully appreciate it.

Simone in slow motion looks like everyone else real time. I'm not sure if she will ever be able to control her landings because of the power she gets but she is spectacular to watch. I think if she played around on high bar, rings and pommel horse for a month she could take the title in the men's division too.

Kind of an interesting graphic from @poorlawyer on twitter. These are the highest D-scores accredited and performed in competition since the start of the last World Championships. Shaded in green are the D-scores that would probably keep pace for advancing to event finals internationally.

Interesting that MyKayla has the 3rd highest D-score average in only 3 months since returning to elite.

Super interesting, though obviously not the only factor. Even more interesting since Jade isn't going for 1 of 4 team spots.

because I'm still not sure I entirely understand this event qualifying method...Is Jade completely out of the running for being selected for the 4 person team? I thought that was how I understood it, but I heard a commentator say something about qualifying via the event cup but that "she would rather be one of the four" and I now have no idea.
