OT The Cloud Sent Me Stuff I’m Not Supposed To Have

Opened my personal laptop and found that a bunch of my coworker’s pics and videos somehow got downloaded in there. Most are benign and stupid (pics of his dogs, food, etc.). Others are.. way more personal. I’m guessing it happened during one of the random times I brought my personal computer to work, but hell if I know the nuances of it. And now I don’t know how to tell him, or if I even should! We are friendly so that makes it slightly less weird, but...I’m so uncomfortable in so many ways! What do I do?

I would tell him the truth, the same way you just did to us, i.e. You're not an expert, you dont know how it happened etc etc etc...BUT, I would never tell him that I went through all the pics and videos before realizing what happened.

Somthing like : "Yo buddy, don't know what happened here but I somehow I ended up with some of your stuff downloaded on my laptop ! OF COURSE, I stopped as soon as I noticed the stuff wasn't mine and recognized your dog..." yada yada yada.

He has to know something went wrong, he just doesn't have to know that you had to go through all of his stuff before noticing it wasn't yours.

At least, that's what I'd do.

Yeah I did NOT go through all his stuff lol. It just happened that the very first one was...faceless and personal, I’ll just say. Which led me to click on another to figure out wtf was on my computer. It wasn’t until I saw pictures of his dogs that I figured out what happened.
