usasf posted tonight that worlds will now be the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and ICU will be afterwards

What was it supposed to be?
It was meant to be the same weekend, but Saturday - Monday, rather than Friday - Sunday.

Having ICU between Worlds and Summit is possibly better for International teams who have kids competing in all three competitions. Less time needed in Orlando, but not much down time to enjoy the parks, etc.

Posing a challenge for Scottish kids as our exams start on the Monday. Kids on our Team Scotland who are sitting exams may have exams scheduled on the days they will be competing. Previously they could go home immediately after ICU if they had exams.

That's a real shame. Love watching Team Scotland, especially in the dance divisions.

Hopefully they will be able to work it out. I think you can arrange to sit your exam elsewhere but it means a coach or nominated parent might have to act as an invigilator, and it may mean athletes having to sit exams on the day they compete which is obviously less than ideal.
It can't be avoided though. I think we will still be represented at ICU it's just going to be a lot of logistics to work out and hopefully we don't have too many pull out now as places have already been given on the teams.
Thankfully none of the exams on those days are maths or english as that would be chaotic. Potentially would have all school aged athletes having to sit those exams.

They have now pushed Summit back a day as well.

Have they said anything about pushing International divisions? I know last year they were Thursday so I'm really hoping they push us to Friday and not put us on the tail end for Monday...

Just checked the Varsity website and it shows international divisions competing Friday with finals on Saturday.

I'm really chuffed about the change in finals to Monday. I feel like with International divisions you knew that hey were going to compete during the week. The amount of school some kids must miss is getting to the ridiculous point.

Summit has changed too. So now Friday-Monday with International Friday and Finals Monday...

The reason I saw is that the ICU had a conference that conflicted with the ICU Worlds dates. So they moved their dates to start on the Monday.

Dear National Federations:
We trust all is well with you and that you are having a wonderful August! With a very promising and exciting year of global Cheer underway, we wanted to follow up regarding the 2019 ICU Annual General Assembly date adjustment discussion and vote- re: the 2020 ICU World Cheerleading Championships.
As reflected within the record of item #12 of the ICU AGM Minutes below- as discussed, the 2020 ICU World Championships dates posed a date conflict with the 2020 SportAccord Convention; an important dual event conflict to resolve - in light of a very important 3rd year of ICU’s pending provisional IOC recognition with the IOC.
In any event, following a few months of due diligence, enclosed please see the correspondence below - with details of the date adjustment contained therein (and 2019 ICU AGM Minutes as a reference as well). Please let us know if you have any questions at anytime and we very much appreciate your great patience and assistance with this matter. Please note: More information to follow regarding the 2020 ICU Breakout meetings (Thursday 30 April 2020) and the 2020 ICU Annual General Meeting (Friday 1 May 2020).

Once again, we very much appreciate all that you do for our great Sport of Cheer, for the ICU - and most importantly for the youth in your country and around the world!

All the best and warmest personal regards,
Karl Olson
