I read this story on this site Jezebel that I follow and was pleasantly surprised when it portrayed cheer positively. I’ve read this site for years and usually enjoy it, but they have PROBLEMS when it comes to cheerleading. Like when they write about cheer they suddenly treat stereotypes as facts and are no better than your average YT commenter in terms of insight, dignity, and intelligence.
But anyway all that aside, cute story. I can only hope I’m cheering at 70.
ETA: Ok, apparently there is no way to link to this article with a tortuously long link. But it was about some Korean grandmas who found that cheerleading improved their health and staved off their depression. They were living the dream in pink uniforms. It was very cute. The end.
