I know some of the differences between NCA & UCA College competitions. What are the main differences for staff members? My daughter does not do school cheer (it isn't offered at her High School), but wants to try out for staff for one of the programs next year. Advice or opinions appreciated. Thanks

UCA has a more traditional type of format similar to high school and college cheerleading while NCA has a flashy type similar to all-star cheerleading. Hope this helps!

Thanks, I have picked up on that was curious if staff roles differ, etc.

I know at one point to apply for UCA staff you had to be chosen by a camp staff members during camp and you were given an application to apply. Not sure if it’s still done that way.

ETA: the requirements and differences are listed on varsity website.

I read the site and saw the requirements. You can do video submissions. I didn't really see any significant differences for the staff and was curious about it. My daughter's High School does not have a Cheer team. So, she won't attend any Cheer School Camps.

I was on NCA staff in college (I taught high school camps from 2012 - 2015 in the Midwest region) and would be happy to answer any questions your daughter has. I did it for three years and would absolutely recommend it to any cheerleaders considering it. I wish I had been able to do it longer than I did but I had to give it up due to a summer internship. Feel free to PM me!
