I have yet to see anyone with a medical background suggest easing limitations yet, does anyone have anything I can reference? I am grateful for the VA Governor Ralph Northam and the stay at home orders he put in place until June 1oth. I am not listening to anyone other medical professional for this medical emergency.

If you find one, I'd love to know.

CANCELED: The Cheerleading Worlds 2020 - cheerUPDATES

ORLANDO, FL – After much speculation, it has been confirmed by the United States All Star Federation (USASF) that the season ending Cheerleading World Championships for 2020 are officially canceled citing COVID-19, the global health pandemic.

Discussions are underway to find an appropriate means of celebrating cheer athletes, our sport, and the 2019/2020 season.

This is a developing story, more information & updates will be made when available.

Thank God! I don't have a horse in this race, but I really don't want to see a bunch of people traveling to my state needlessly during a global pandemic. Come back next year...maybe!

Right... on to the NEXT one

I'm also relieved that we don't have to asterick Worlds 2020. I feel like to continue with not everyone there who earned bids and teams not getting their regular preparations in beforehand would've been really, really unfair to every single athlete, gym owner, coach, and parent who did and didn't get to go.

Mategate was really difficult and heartbreaking to follow, a lot of kids had their season end in a very unfair way. My heart couldn't possibly handle that on a larger scale. Not that this isn't equally heartbreaking but, safety and logistics aside, I think it's the fairest thing USASF could've done for all athletes no matter what their gym's decision would've been.

And probably not a popular opinion. But while i feel for the athletes and coaches, etc. I'm kinda shocked at the complete lack of concern in trying to push to save it. I get its hard for any kid to end their sport suddenly. But to want to put at risk hundreds of kids, people, regular citizens of orlando just to save a cheer comp. I'm kinda surprised they needed time to even think of what the right course of action was.

I know this is possibly rude of me to say but it’s just my opinion. I really don’t think it was cheerupdates place to post about worlds being canceled. Athletes, parents, and probably even the coaches should have found out from the gym owners...not on Twitter.
Agreed. I dont understand why he is given so much inside access when hes not even a coach or owner.... But I'm blocked so I don't even know how he found out in the first place...

Not arguing with you, but it would have quickly popped up on an ugly anonymous site.

I know that the original announcement said not to share out of respect for the athletes so they could find out from their coaches/gym owners....some people just don't care

I don't envy the higher ups who had to make the call on this at all.

They definitely did the right thing in my eyes, but right things are not always easy.

I was really worried that they'd push to reschedule, forcing parents to be the bad guy and refuse to let their kids participate.

I get apparently he is a coach or parent to some degree according to others, I dont really know which. But like come on, you ran to twitter probably 5 seconds after finding out, cause beating an athlete or anon to an announcement is more of a priority.....
Im just not a fan of how people can put that much trust and info to someone who started off as a crappy anon himself. I'm just never gonna be a fan of CU

To be fair, I don't think a lot of people really get the impact. I didn't at the beginning. But seeing it unfold here in CA has swiftly changed my mind.

That said, not everyone has a front seat to this thing. For a lot of states, it's still business as usual. So to them, yeah, I could see why they'd want to push through.
