STUNT the Sport was ratified as an emerging sport by the NCAA. It was announced today.

STUNT is small, and most areas don’t have it yet, but hopefully it can become a DI-DIII sport as quickly as possible and expand throughout the country. Hopefully they’ll offer cheerleaders alternate options for cheering in college as well as scholarships(about time for that one!). Plus, any facet of cheer as a varsity college sport is huge for us.

Wasn't A&T (NCATA) trying to do the same thing?[/QU

STUNT was recommended by the NCAA's Committee on Women's Athletics for Emerging Sport Status. It has not been ratified by the NCAA as of yet. This is what Acro & Tumbling achieved last summer 2019. This past January, Division II and Division III added Acro & Tumbling as an emerging sport for their divisions (along with Women's Wrestling). Division I was to be voting on adding Acro & Tumbling an emerging sport this spring, but not sure where things stand given COVID-19. It is not clear if the NCAA Division I held their scheduled meeting where the voting was to occur. Now that STUNT has been "recommended" by the NCAA's CWA for emerging sport status, Division I, Division II and Division III will all need to vote to add the sport.

You’re absolutely correct, I meant recommended.
