New gym in NW Illinois

Oh wow. Is Kids Spot Cheer still a thing? I know they were this past season. They've been really successful over the years! I believe they are in Roscoe as well? Couldn't imagine another gym in such a small town. Love the Colors and name of Wicked though!

Looks like Kids Spot is still open. Lots of tryout info on their Facebook. I know some of the staff at Wicked used to be at Kids Spot (although not sure how recently) so not sure what the situation is! Kids Spot is in the next town over. They're both in the Rockford area, and Rockford is the third biggest city in IL - just has never seemed like a huge cheer area.

Is USA Allstars in Virginia reopening (the one in Fredericksburg/Stafford)? Their website still says closed until further notice and there has been no activity on social media. Their level 4 team won D2 Summit year before last and had been very competitive after moving up to D1 last season. I have been keeping an eye on them, they seem to have a great program. It’s a little concerning that they don’t seem to have any kind of engagement online during the quarantine though.

Did CEA DMV have a huge influx of new kids? I’m not sure how many kids they had last year. They said they had 427 packets as of 5 days ago.

With Maryland Allstars closing wondering if that will go up quite a bit and possibly USA if they don’t reopen.

I believe CEA DMV always have a huge influx every year. They've grown alot ever since they've open.

Steele Athletics in has a new location opening in Las Cruces, New Mexico for the 2020-2021 season. The head coaches/program directors will be Team USA alumni and New Mexico State University coaches Chris Ethridge (UofL/Bama alum) and Lyla Islas (NMSU alum and NCA staffer). All-Star Coordinator for the program will be Nicole Stanley, a Stingrays Allstar - Orange alum who previously coached at Steele’s denver location!

They used to be Shockwave, right? CEA Maryland (the one in Waldorf) has also become very competitive in the DC area, I have no idea what kind of numbers they have though.

Are they taking over a/the gym in Las Cruces (I know we have seen a gym from Las Cruces I want to say it’s the only one but not positive on that. And I can’t think of their name at all right now something Storm) or is this just a brand new location?

Star Athletics opened a location here in Winder,GA. Their original location is out of NJ. They had I believe close to 200 at their opening last weekend.

Good for them, but also that is SO confusing. I grew in NJ and I'm proud that Star is still standing, but opening another location in GA? Atlanta is already so saturated!

Wishing them luck in either case, but curious about that story.

I’m honestly not sure. Everything I know is from Instagram because it was announced during the quarantine so I haven’t been at the gym, but I believe it is a new location.

(For the record I’m just an athlete that was on one of their open teams obviously I don’t speak for the program or their staff or anything)

Thanks! A part of me is kinda hoping it’s a new location it would be nice to see another gym from Las Cruces.

Saw on social media Vogue Athletics from England and Superstars in Albuquerque is joining together. Superstars will be taking the Vogue Athletics name.

We just had our 500th person tryout and are now at 502 and climbing. It has been a tough time and it has been nice to get some good news.
