Wow. And so it begins. Our gym wasn’t planning on competing until 1/3/21 this year. But there are many comps in my state on that list. I’m sure in a few weeks they will start canceling jan comps next.

I wonder why they chose to cancel some and not others. I do feel like they will end up cancelling them all eventually but just wondering what thought process went into the ones that they cancelled as of now.

Can't find a list with a link, just the same list pic from CU and I don't remember how to add pics so I typed out the major ones:

USA - Reach the Beach CA, Arizona Classic, Northern and Southern Cal Holiday Classic.

Cheer Power/ ACP - Halloween Holiday Champ TX, Halloween Holiday Frisco, D2 Puppy Love.

Encore - Toms River D1 & D2.

Cheersport - Raleigh, Charlotte

Jamfest - The Jamfest, Excite Jam, Country Jam

UCA - Mid South Regional, Southern Colorado Regional, Mile High Regional, Nor Cal Regional, Hawkeye Regional, Boothill, Milwaukee, and MidAmerica Extreme

NCA - North Texas Classic D1 and D2, Lone Star D1 & D2, Nashville Classic.

Northeast Champs Toms River D1&2

One Up - CLE

You can also use the varsity comp search thingy to see if one not on this list is cancelled because they're going to keep updating that with cancellations.

Perhaps those states are not allowing gatherings of that size or the conventions centers pulled? Many centers are sadly being used for overflow covid patients.

That would make sense, however PA is not allowing indoor gatherings over 250 and there are still some in PA that are not cancelled yet so it leaves me a bit confused

DK but did you see this from PA today? Just a recommendation not order, yet.
UPDATE: The Pennsylvania Department of Health and Department of Education jointly recommends that Pre-K through 12 school and recreational youth sports be postponed until at least January 1, 2021, to protect children and teens from COVID-19. According to a release from the Wolf Administration, this is a strong recommendation, not an order or mandate.

Highlights of the recommendation to pause youth sports until Jan. 1, 2021:

  • Applies to team and individual, school and non-school recreational youth sports;
  • Includes competitions, intramural play and scrimmages;
  • Continue conditioning, drills and other training activities on an individual basis;
  • Does not apply to collegiate and professional sports;
  • Gathering limits remain unchanged - no more than 25 persons may gather indoors and 250 outdoors.
The Wolf administration is leaving the decision to school administrators and locally elected school boards. Existing sports guidance is being updated to reflect the recommendation.

I heard Until February 21st Philadelphia is not having any big events.

MS’s governor has put some pretty big limits on groups, and we’re in a hotspot, so I’m not surprised that Mid-South is on the list. And I don’t think many teams who usually attend will be ready to compete. TN’s governor only just allowed contact sports, and some schools haven’t even been able to do tryouts yet, depending on what their school districts allowed over summer.

Here in NJ indoor dining still isn’t open and you cant have gathering of more than 25 people. So some NJ comps are canceled on that list but not all.... confusing.

im blocked by CU, what does it say?

it’s not an order for the sports section however the gathering limits is a part of an order so that’s where i see the issue in PA
