I thought about that, but the skill is listed under the roll/flip section. So unless they do a double-braced flip and somehow add a twist, I’m not sure what else it could be. But I have no clue how you’d add a twist with two connected hands/arms.
Does it have to be hand to hand? I feel like I have seen one hand, one hip connection flipping fulls? Maybe I'm imagining it.

It doesn’t have to be hand-to-hand or double-braced necessarily, but I feel like that’s the only way to get enough leverage with HS kids.

The only thing I can think of that makes sense is like a reverse Baja? But I think as far as HS goes we’ll see it attempted in a pyramid scenario with lots of disposable bracers available. Assuming we see it attempted at all. It might be one of those skills that’s just too ugly and time consumptive to try despite being points-heavy.

Does anyone have any recommendations of books on coaching and like the psychology of coaching? Can be focused on any sport really!

We really need to talk more guys. I literally don’t read the news anymore after RBG. Also Big Brother is racist again and Twitter is a horror show. So whatever you got — new dog sweater, new cavities, whatever — I’m here to react to it.

Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy won their first acting Emmy awards tonight, does that count? (Their first wins were for writing in 1982. Eugene won again in 1983; the same year his son was born.)

OH I DID SEE THAT. It was a Schitt’s Creek clean sweep almost. Good for them. O’Hara is way overdue. She should’ve won all the awards for Orange County.

Ive recommended “Cheer!” by Kate Torgovnick on here before. It’s not about coaching per se, but there is stuff in there on cheer strategy from top college coaches.

As for actual coaching books, there’s “Coaching Cheerleading Successfully” by Linda Rae Chappell.

I think I might have read the first. Can’t remember.

They swept all the categories tonight, at least. And is the first show ever to sweep all 4 acting categories.
Catherine should've been nominated for the show ages ago, if only for the episode with the "fold in the cheese" bit, or the one that features her laughing manically without opening her mouth.
I love this show so much. I think Netflix sometimes does a TERRIBLE job with their material, including promoting it. I know it got a HUGE pandemic bump and because it's so flipping wholesome. All the pain is real without being over-dramatic or forced.

I know a lot of people were bummed that it meant other awesome stuff got shut out, but this is the unfortunate reality of these things. It's like Jennifer Lawrence getting the Oscar for SLP instead of her performance in Winter's Bone- made it up to her the next time around.

I got Invisalign today because I didn’t wear my retainer when I was a teen and now I’m paying for it years later.

You’ll be happy to know that those orthodontic wax bars they give you haven’t changed since 1999.

Anyone in human resources? I'm considering taking the aPHR certification exam and would love your professional opinion on how to enter the field. I have customer service and marketing experience but just don't know how to get my foot in the door.

Have only seen some clips on social media, the models in a small group singing/lip syncing etc. I think it is seriously tone deaf.

I’ve been side eyeing it hard this year.

The whole thing just feels very unnecessary, transparent, condescending, and cliquish to me.

I am not familiar with Rebel catalogs.

DO THE CATALOGS/LOOKBOOKS HAVE ACTUAL GAMEDAY OR COMP READY DESIGNS?

All I see online in social media = couture runway type concept unis being modeled in exotic locations.

That's all great and some of those are beautiful, but wasn't sure where a coach would look to see something their team could actually wear.

Rebel does have a school lookbook but honestly those designs are nothing that Varsity hasn’t already covered. Rebel’s bread and butter are the comp unis, and their crown jewel is the “couture” line that they aggressively promote by taking cheer’s Cool Kids to Europe every year.

Which is weird because every year they get further and further away from any viable cheer uni design in favor of what are essentially glorified Halloween costumes (over the last few years especially, the couture designs have literally been styled to reflect the next vacay spot than the demands of cheer). And while I understand that the couture designs are supposed to be “conceptual,” the fact remains that nobody is ordering a modified toga to wear to Worlds. I don’t care if Gabi Butler models it on top of a horse. It’s not happening. And they should know that if they have any cheer experience whatsoever. So ultimately, I’m not sure what the point of the whole campaign is, or how sustainable it’ll be in the future if they keep going down this road. Eventually the novelty will wear off.
